San Diego Comic Con Goodies Preview

It’s almost here! I’m so excited to show all you lovelies all of the lovely goodies I’ve been working on to bring to San Diego Comic Con! I’m coming back to my same booth location 4723, so come find me in the Fantasy Illustrator section. Here’s a handy-dandy map!

I’ve been focusing a lot on one-of, limited and small run goodies and apparel. And I’m bringing lots of it to booth 4723! I’ll have a handful of pieces from my LiveHeroes apparel collection, like these.

I’m also bringing mugs to SDCC! I’ll have 2 different designs of full-color print mugs, like these “Arachnia” ones. Isn’t she gorgeous! You can get one at booth 4723. 🙂

I’m bringing coaster sets and socks to SDCC booth 4723! You can mix and match 4 coasters to a set, but quantities are limited so come pick your favorites early in the show! The socks are super pretty too, each pair is all-over-print and super comfy. There’s 4 different designs to choose from, or you could get the whole set!

Totes totes totes! I’ve made a bunch of 1-of tote designs and colorways for my booth 4723! Each one is double-sided printing with a colored handle, and lots of them have zippers! They’re machine washable, so don’t be afraid to use them every day and freshen them up in the wash!

Is your pin game strong! It can be with the new Tuttleina and Rainbuns hard enamel pins I’m bringing to SDCC! These lovelies are polished hard enamel with a smooth surface, and locking pin backings on the back, so they won’t fall off your favorite bag or cardigan, or where ever you like to pin your treasures!

I’ve also got a big beautiful collection of printed vintage plates coming to SDCC! Each plate is truly one-of-a-kind and can’t be reproduced the same way. They make amazing wall decorations or additions to your curio cabinet, or anywhere you’d like to display a unique treasure!

I’ve got lots of new and unique plates for the show, so I’m going to bring new designs every day to booth 4723! Come check them out and be sure to visit on different days to find your new favorites. I’m also doing something fun and new this year! I’ve made 3 original drawings on Shikishi boards and I’m going to raffle them to supporters who purchase new goodies from my booth 4723.

I’ll give raffle tickets to supporters and have daily drawings on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. So if you’re at the show and you purchase from my booth on Wednesday Preview night, I’ll give you a raffle ticket for the Thursday evening drawing. It’s going to be so much fun! I’ll draw raffle tickets on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, so to be eligible you need to be at my booth 4723 in person at the end of the day (the exhibition hall closes 7pm). I’ll see you lovelies there, and thank you in advance for your support for my art!

San Diego Comic Con Part 3 Events

It’s coming up fast! Next week San Diego Comic Con will be upon us, and I’ve got fun events planned during the show. I’ll have a booth again at booth#4723 in the Fantasy Illustrator section, so come visit me there to get your books and prints signed, and check out all my awesome goodies!

I’ve got a special signing event to celebrate the release of my artbook, “Femina & Fauna 2nd Edition”! Dark Horse Comics, the publisher of the artbook, is hosting a signing event on Thursday July 20, from 4-5:30pm at their booth#2615. I’ll be signing alongside Simone Legno, creator of tokidoki who contributed the forward to Femina & Fauna 2nd Ed! We’ll be signing a special SDCC event-only print featuring my artwork ‘Black Rabbit Kaleidoscope’ and Simone’s painting image ‘Selfie’, and signing copies of Femina & Fauna purchased at the show. This is a wristband-only signing limited to 75 wristbands, so you need to get a wristband from Dark Horse Comics booth#2615. There will be 30 wristbands given out Wednesday night, and 45 wristbands distributed Thursday morning at booth 2615, so go visit them early to get one! I hope to see you there, and don’t be shy to ask to take a photo together! 😉

Save The Bees With Art Panel

I’m teaming up with some amazing partners to present a totally unique and super fun panel this year at SDCC! On Friday July 21 from 2-3pm, you can come to my “Save The Bees With Art” panel in Room 2. I’m bringing coloring book pages for everyone from my book Pop Manga Coloring Book and some crayons for if you’d like to color along during the panel! I’m also bringing postcards of my Lemon Drop painting to give out to great question askers during the panel!

I’ll be joined by my friend and art colleague J*Ryu who will be moderating, and Planet Bee Foundation co-founder Debra Tomaszewski, who will be bringing goodies sponsored by Marin Bee Company to give out to great question askers. Planet Bee Foundation are my new partners in conservation efforts to educate and share art and help foster responsible eco-friendly stewardship for our bee populations! The panel will also feature a representative from Holbein, which is the company that makes my favorite Duo Aqua water soluble oil paints! They’ll be giving some Holbein paint samples out during the panel to good question askers too, so if you’ve wondered about how water-soluble oils work and how they’re environmentally friendly, this is a great time to ask!

I’m also returning to Holbein booth 5104 on Saturday, July 22, to do a live painting demonstration from 10-11am! I’ll be working on a brand new painting and demoing Holbein Duo Aqua water soluble oil paints, the same ones I use in my book Pop Painting! This is an awesome opportunity to see my techniques in action, and ask about how I make my paintings, so come watch on Saturday Jul 22 from 10-11am at booth 5104!

San Diego Comic Con Part 2 New Releases

Get ready my lovelies! San Diego Comic Con is almost upon us! Are you as excited as I am? I can hardly believe it’s already been almost a year since SDCC. And in that time, I’ve planned lots of beautiful exclusive, one-of-a-kind, and new release goodies for you!

I’ll be back at my booth location 4723 so mark it on your maps! My booth is in the Fantasy Illustrators section.

This year I made lots of One-Of-A-Kind types of items for fans visiting my booth#4723! I’ll have Tshirts and Tanktops in brand new and one-of designs, so if you see one you like in your size,  don’t miss out, because there’ll only be one or two like it at SDCC.

These are previews of designs from my Liveheroes collection you can find in extremely limited quantities at my SDCC booth 4723! I’ll also have a few of my new Liveheroes long strapped bags, check them out!

If you can’t make it to SDCC though, don’t sweat it! You can order items from my Liveheroes collection online here. They ship internationally too!

I’ve also made one-of Scarves and totes for the show! These color combinations of zippers and straps won’t be made again, so if it’s love-at-first-sight, add your favorite to your collection! My totes and even scarves are washable (scarves like to be hand washed in cold and hang-dry) so don’t be afraid to wear and use them!

I’ll be making new necklaces for SDCC booth 4723 too! I’m thinking some rainbow and surreal images- you’re going to love them! I’ll only make 1 of each image design per frame & necklace chain style, so each one will be individual. Make sure you pick out your favorite early in the show!

I’ve made a very special collection of plates for my SDCC booth 4723! I’ve been scouring the corners of the earth together with my plate printing artisan partner, BeatUpCreations, and I’m bringing a big beautiful offering of one-of-a-kind printed vintage plates to Comic Con. Each plate is One-Of-A-Kind, and I’m going to bring new ones each day of the show for everyone to have a chance to find something special, so make sure you come check them out! Here’s a peek at just a few of the designs coming to SDCC:

I wish I could show you all of them, but it’ll be a fun surprise for fans in person to discover new plate images every day! So come visit my booth 4723, and if you can’t make it to the show, stay tuned to my newsletter here for upcoming releases of vintage plates on my Etsy!

I’m hand-embellishing fine art prints especially for SDCC! I’ve made an edition of 5pcs of “La Madre” 16×19″ fine art prints, and once these are sold, I won’t be reprinting this size again! She’s exclusive to SDCC, and I’m embellishing each print by hand with metallic paints. I’m also bringing hand-embellished prints of Ophelia to booth 4723! These ones I painted with gold and silver metallic paints to make them extra special, releasing exclusively at SDCC!

New prints are coming to SDCC too! Come to my booth 4723 for new releases like “Foxy Lady”, a new colorway of my Mermaid & Narwhal, “Pinkie Pie” prints, and lots more fan-favorites!

I have a brand new Hard Enamel pin design coming to SDCC booth 4723! This new design is a limited edition of only 100pcs, and a SDCC Exclusive. Also brand new for SDCC are stickers of my painting image “Hello My Neighbor”! These are inspired by one of my favorite films and ghibli characters, Totoro!

My new artbook release, Femina & Fauna 2nd Edition is also coming to SDCC! This is a new and updated edition of my sold-out “Femina & Fauna” artbook from Dark Horse Comics. For this edition I added new artwork, a new forward by Simone Legno creator of tokidoki, and a new section showing the creation of my painting “Aria”. If you’re an artbook collector or know an art lover, this is a great book to add to any collection!

I’m bringing copies of my Pop Manga Coloring Book too! These are loads of fun, and I love seeing your colored pages if you post them online and tag me #camilladerrico

There’s lots I’m bringing to SDCC, even more than what I can share here, so come and visit me at booth 4723! I’ll sign prints and books, and don’t be shy to ask to take a photo together! I’ll keep posting more photos and sneak peeks on social media, and you can follow @thecamillastore on Facebook, Twitter & IG for more updates on goodies too. See you soon in San Diego!

Happy Canada Day! Celebrate 150 Years With Something Special

Happy birthday Canada! Did you know I’m a Canadian artist, living and working in beautiful Vancouver BC? I love it here! It’s so beautiful and full of nature, and wonderful people, and food, and everything! And every year I like to give a shout-out to all my fellow Canadians and friends of Canada in celebration. I even got my coordinator Tasha in the spirit (by saying “Here Tasha, hold this” and taking photos hehehe).

And this year is Canada’s 150 birthday! Woohoo! That’s a milestone all right. And so I thought to celebrate it would be fun to share the good vibes! I’ve made a code you can use on my customizable print shop here for FREE SHIPPING on orders $150+! Just enter the code CELEBRATE at checkout I’ll ship your prints anywhere in the world to you at no extra cost!

I’ve added new prints to my customizable print shop in honor of Canada Day! Like “Canadian Tiger” here, which is still one of my favorite paintings and much loved by people all around the world. You can also find prints like Aria, Muffler, and new ones like Unraveling and The Girl Who Knew Too Much.

Camilla’s Rainbow Release Roundup

I’m so excited my Rainbow Release is almost here! I was inspired by my trip to Rome this month, it’s such a romantic and vibrant city, and I couldn’t help wanting to create artworks to express my joy for celebrating life and love! That’s why I’ve made new framed graphite drawings I’m including in my Rainbow Release tomorrow June 30, 9am on Etsy here.

I also made some lovely necklaces for release on Etsy tomorrow! I hand assembled each one and carefully chose each image to for each pendant frame. They’re a wonderful way to make art something wearable you can take with you day to day! Only one of each of these designs will release on Etsy June 30th at 9AM PST so snap up your favorite before it finds another home!

I’ve also made a small collection of one-of-a-kind vintage printed plates that will release ! Each one is a vintage plate that’s been printed on, and I carefully chose the artwork to compliment the plate design. There’s only 1 of each, so if there’s one you’re after, I suggest completing checkout with it right away before going back to shop for other less-limited goodies. Etsy shopping carts don’t hold the items on reserve, so it’s a race to finish checkout first. If you place another order afterwards, my Etsy coordinator Asami can help combine your shipments. 🙂

Also releasing tomorrow are a beautiful variety of tote bags! Many are one-of colorways, with strap+zipper color pairings I won’t make again! And I’m releasing some limited-run totes for folks to have more chances at a special bag. They’re double-sided and machine washable, and super strong! So don’t be afraid to use them and wash them! They’ll go live at 9am June 30th here.

There are also a handful of prints releasing for my Rainbow Release! Some are hand-signed, some aren’t, and some are super special Artist Proofs or retired prints! So make sure you read the descriptions carefully when you pick your favorites here on Etsy starting June 30th 9AM PST.

And as a special treat, 3 orders placed on June 30th for my Rainbow Release will get a bonus tiny art print with an original sketch on the back, made by me! I appreciate your support so much, and hope you love my Rainbow Release tomorrow June 30th at 9AM PST on Etsy Here!

Thank You Roma Cartoon Festival!

Thank you to everyone who visited me at Roma Cartoon Festival last weekend! And to the amazing organizers who all worked so hard (and even through the crazy heat wave!) to make the festival fun for everyone!

I had my fangirl moment meeting Masami Suda, illustrator for Fist of the North Star and much more! Childhood idol right there, so it was awesome getting to say Hello in person!

I’ve had some adventures while I’m back in Rome too, my cousin is a great travel companion! Between the two of us (mostly me) we’ve eaten so much amazing pasta haha. 😉

It’s been a blast and I’m always happy to visit Dorothy Circus Gallery while I’m in town. My original paintings from my Submerged show are still on display so if you can make it to Rome to see them, definitely go!

Roma Cartoon Festival Is On June 23-25

It’s finally here! Roma Cartoon Festival is on and I’m all set up at Guido Reni. I have artbooks, prints, tote bags, one of a kind scarves, hand made jewelry and more! I’ve decorated my exhibition room to be a rainbow wonderland and I hope you get the chance to visit me here!

Hello Rome! Roma Cartoon Festival June 23-25

It’s so good to be back in Rome! I’ve landed and am getting ready for Roma Cartoon Festival June 23-25 at Guido Reni!

Rome is one of those cities of the world that I fall head-over-heels in food-love for. The pizza and gelato are amazing! I don’t think I could ever get tired of them, even if I had them every day.

Since Rome is such an old city, and very compact, a lot of people ride motorbikes or vespas. Unleashing my inner road warrior!

I’m so happy to be visiting Dorothy Circus Gallery again where my “Submerged” solo exhibition painting are on display and some are available! If you haven’t seen them yet or are interested in originals you can email sales@dorothycircusgallery.com

I love running around such a romantic and enchanting city, and then take a break for some drawing! I’m working on original graphite drawings I’ll bring to Roma Cartoon Festival June 23-25. I’ll have a whole exhibition room with my art, prints, apparel and special goodies, so if you can make it to Rome please come visit me!
