San Diego Comic Con was filled with fun, fans, friends and fabulous art! Thank you to everyone who came by the booth to visit, get books and prints (and toys!) signed, and find beautiful new prints and items to collect.
Camilla was in her booth for the most of the show signing, sketching and connecting with fans. Her Ian Somerhalder cardboard cutout, promoting The Beekeeper charity print fundraising project for Ian Somerhalder Foundation, was a big hit. Ian signed the cutout in endorsement at Warner Brother’s Vampire Diaries Signing on the SDCC show floor!

Prominent female cosplayers Meagan Marie and Lisa Lou Who attended Comic Con dressed as Camilla d’Errico paintings. Meagan cosplayed “The Heart” and Lisa cosplayed as “The Egg Thief”. The 2011 Cos & Effect convention hosted at the University of British Columbia is this weekend! There’s still time to get a costume together for the Camilla d’Errico Helmetgirl Cosplay Walkoff Contest, and the fine people at Boo La La can help anyone still interested in participating in the show. If you’re attending, please RSVP on Facebook and help us spread word of the event!
The Helmetgirl Cosplay Walkoff Contest will begin at 12:00 in the Main Ballroom, but models will need to arrive 15 minutes early to prepare backstage. Professional photographers will be on-hand to take stunning photos of all the costumes. Camilla will be the judge of the contest, and the grand prize winner will receive an original piece of art! Since it’s so great to have the support of such dedicated fans, we’re working on putting together special prize packages for everyone who enters. ^_^
Another year of San Diego Comic-Con has come and gone, but we’re looking forward to another big event happening in only a few weeks – the 2011 Cos & Effect convention in Vancouver hosted at the University of British Columbia! On Sunday, August 14th – from Noon until 1:30pm – there will be a special Camilla d’Errico Helmetgril Cosplay Walkoff, where prizes, like original art, will be given out!
If you’re planning on attending, be sure to take advantage of the special discount offered by Boo La La Costumes, where you can get 15% off of your total purchase for the show. Dani from Boo La La is a fabulous photographer in addition to being a great designer, and she’s taken some photos of cosplay models to inspire anyone else looking to participate:
Please RSVP on Facebook if you’re planning to attend the event, and click here for more details. Thanks for reading, and hope to see you there! Can’t wait to see all the designs! ^_^

This makes us all extremely excited for August 14th, and to see what everyone comes up with for their own costumes. And remember, if you are having trouble, Dani and the crew at Boo La La are there to help you make your Helmetgirls costume a stunner and are offering a special discount!
In the blog post with all of the details of the event, we made a note that the store would be a good place to find steam-punk inspired accessories, and now the store has promised to offer any participating cosplayers 15% off of their total purchase. Plus, Dani at Boo La La is a professional stylist and photographer! So, if you would like her to do your make-up and take high-quality photos of you in your costume at her studio, you can get a discount on that too!
Although the contest is called Helmetgirls, anyone is free to cosplay as any of Camilla’s creations, especially those found in Femina & Fauna (currently sold-out, but limited quantities available at select conventions), or other paintings. If you’re thinking of attending and/or participating, please RSVP on Facebook. Can’t wait to see all the amazing costumes people come up with! ^.^
