An exciting new official collaboration is coming from APPortfolio and I! I’m sure you’re going to be tickled pink ( ;D ) at what we have in store for you lovelies for 2018! This little teaser from the digital sculpt of my upcoming toy release was posted over the Holidays on APPortfolio social media here. You can follow @apportfolio for more upcoming hints and release details!

Boxing Week Sale Is Coming

The Holidays are coming up so fast, I can hardly believe it! And I couldn’t stop myself from getting into the spirit with painting cute new custom toys. They’re just too much fun! I love making each one a little character with their own miniature narrative.

I’ve made 7 new hand-painted toys for my Dec 26th 9am PST release on Etsy here. But my First Dibs Patreon patrons will get their chance for presales on Monday the 18th! If you don’t know about First Dibs, it’s an electronic preview and presale for Etsy goodies like original artworks and printed vintage plates. You can sign up for First Dibs here or email info@camilladerrico.com to get access to these cuties and the rest of my new toys for First Dibs before anyone else!

And I have more than just toys planned for my Dec 26 release! From Dec 26-30, prints are going to be on sale 25% off on Etsy here and on my custom print shop here with the code BOXING17 ! It’s a big sale for my prints, so I hope you lovelies enjoy! I’m also making it extra special with gifts in orders. Every order from both shops will get a bonus sticker. Spend 10$+ and get a new 1″ button I made just for Boxing Week!

And for orders valued $75+ , before shipping cost, you’ll also get a signed 5×7″ print of my painting “Bad Madeline” I made just for Boxing Week! So set your alarms for 9am PST on Dec 26 because there will be lots of fun one-of-a-kind painted toys, jewelry, and small-run apparel, snowglobes, seasonal sets and more releasing on Etsy!

Coloring Contest and Designer Con

It’s time for a coloring contest! It’s been too long since my last one, so I’m opening the floor to something fun and creative for all you lovelies! Download and print off, or color digitally, one of my two new graphite drawings “Queen Bee” or “Spirited”. Show me your colored picture by posting a scan or photo on Instagram or Facebook with the hashtags #camillacoloringcontest #camilladerrico If you tag me I’ll be able to see them faster! Make sure your account is set to public so I can find them! On November 18th 11:59pm PST the contest will close and then I’ll pick 2 winners, and send each of them an original drawing!

Both of these lovely original framed 5×7″ graphite drawings are coming with me to my DesignerCon booth 1701 next weekend, Nov 11-12 at the Pasadena convention center! I’ll have loads of new goodies including original petite bee paintings, graphite drawings, custom painted toys, one of a kind jewelry, plates, handbags, apparel, totes, new convention exclusives and more! You can find me at booth 1701 here,

For all you who are like me and channel your inner vintage-loving-granny, I’m bringing one of a kind printed vintage plates! Take a look at these sweet treats I’ll have at my booth 1701

I’ll let the rest of them be a surprise! But each one is one-of-a-kind, so be sure to visit me early to pick your favorite. I’m also making hand-painted custom vinyl toys and petite bee paintings! Scope these babies out,

I’m also releasing a DCon exclusive hand embellished limited edition fine art print, and matching limited edition enamel pin! These Pinky bee prints are going to come hand signed and numbered in an edition of 25pcs, and I’ve embellished them with glitter. My DCon exclusive limited edition hard enamel bee pins are glow-in-the-dark, AND they have glitter in them too! What a perfect pair!

I’ll see you at the convention to pick up these fuzzy wuzzies, or, if you’re one of my Patreon First Dibs rewards members, you’ll get a chance to add one to your collection before the convention! If you want to get First Dibs on special releases like these, you can sign up here.

I’m also bringing some one-of tote bags, new one-of and small run purses and apparel from my Liveheroes collection to DCon booth 1701! Come check them our early in the show, because with goodies this limited they find new homes fast!

There will be prints and books at my booth 1701 too! I’ll have new prints like my “Pink Lemonade” and “The Last Unicorn”, but I’m only bringing a handful, so don’t miss out on your chance to add them to your collection! I’ll be signing prints and books all weekend, and if you’d like your artbook or copy of Tanpopo with an original sketch inside, ask me about it at the show!

Hand Painted No Ordinary Love Statue

AttemptedMurder_logos1sm

Hi guys! I’m Tasha, Camilla’s operations coordinator- her helper and executive llama extraordinaire. I get to share the cool news and projects Camilla works on here on the blog, and we’d like to share a Camilla project I’ve put together. I’ve hand-painted one of Camilla’s No Ordinary Love statues in a different colorway I’m calling “Attempted Murder”, patterned after Camilla’s painting “Aida”.

Aida_sm

I’ve repainted the statue from top to bottom in the new palette, with little sculpted mice and eggs in her hair. The original No Ordinary Love statues are Blue & White – even the white crows have blue tinting in them.

NOL Comparison 2

Camilla is an amazing artist and mentor, and it’s a pleasure to get to share how her work inspires the painting I do. This one-of-a-kind colourway will be with me at my Designer Con booth #911 in Pasadena this weekend, November 8-9 at the Pasadena Convention Center.  If you’re in the area, swing by and say Hi!

NOL Comparison1

If you haven’t collected your own No Ordinary Love statue yet, we have a few here on The Camilla Store. Does Camilla inspire you to make new artwork too? Show us at info@camilladerrico.com !

Thanks For A Great SDCC2013!

San Diego Comic Con was filled with fun, fans, friends and fabulous art! Thank you to everyone who came by the booth to visit, get books and prints (and toys!) signed, and find beautiful new prints and items to collect.

Good to see Camilla’s Burn make Comic Con and Tr!ckster’s Top Picks for 2013!

Camilla was in her booth for the most of the show signing, sketching and connecting with fans. Her Ian Somerhalder cardboard cutout, promoting The Beekeeper charity print fundraising project for Ian Somerhalder Foundation, was a big hit. Ian signed the cutout in endorsement at Warner Brother’s Vampire Diaries Signing on the SDCC show floor!

Prominent female cosplayers Meagan Marie and Lisa Lou Who attended Comic Con dressed as Camilla d’Errico paintings. Meagan cosplayed “The Heart” and Lisa cosplayed as “The Egg Thief”. Camilla d’Errico Designer Toy Awards 2012 Nomination

Camilla’s No Ordinary Love Statue, a collaborative effort with Gentle Giant Studios and produced by Dark Horse Comics has been nominated for the Designer Toy Awards Outstanding Production piece of 2012!

The Designer Toy Awards, run through Clutter Magazine, recognize the best and brightest artists and contributions to the designer toy and art toy world. Held during the weekend of New York Comic Con in NYC, the DTA are a fabulously well attended and lively event bringing together artists and industry professinals from all over the world. It is an honour for Camilla’s first art statue adaptation from one of her paintings, No Ordinary Love, to be recognized at this level.

Last years’ winner for the designer toy awards Outstanding Production category was Tara McPherson’s art statue Lilitu. A marvellously crafted sculptural art piece in an edition of 200 pieces.

This year we will be asking for your support in helping vote for Camilla’s No Ordinary Love Statue, and show how your Love of Camilla’s artwork is anything but Ordinary! When voting opens in the summer time we will announce it here and on our newsletter here. Or visit the Designer Toy Awards site directly here.

Camilla’s recent nomination is joined by our d’Errico Studios MegaLlama helper Tasha Zimich, who has been nominated in the Designer Toy Awards for Breakthrough Artist! We remember Tasha cut her teeth on painting designer vinyl with painting some of Camilla’s DIY Vinyl Kuro Toys. Tasha has kept painting toys, and has since participated in exhibitions and artist series regularly. Here’s a quick look at how far Tasha has come along from 2011 to now. Keep it up Tasha!

Holy custom Kuros, Batman!
We’ve spotted 2 incredible new custom vinyl Kuros by two incredible artists. Below in Blue is “Kagekuro-ling” by
Shadoe Delgado. Shadoe’s creatures, or Shadow-lings, feel perfectly at home on the Kuro platform with its mask and the sculptural feel of the form. Shadoe has one Kuro left to make into a Shadow-y little friend if you drop him a line at shadoedelgado.com

Look at this creepy little fellow! Cute, right? Creepy cute? That’s it, and that’s something artist Jason Jacenko of 696 Ink loves to imbue his custom painted toys with. How did he know Kuro was a Hello Kitty fan?
