Ollie The Frenchie Needs Our Help

OllieFrenchie1

Camilla loves French Bulldogs so, so much! Her charity art print fundraiser for French Bulldog Rescue was a big success, and her own Frenchie, Loki, is often by her side while she paints. So when she heard about Ollie, she knew we had to try and help!

Camilla and each of our d’Errico team members have donated to Ollie’s emergency surgery fund, and we want to share his situation with you in hopes you’ll help him get the treatment he needs. Love and support like yours has raised over 2500$ in 24hrs, and his surgery is almost fully funded, so please consider contributing here.

TriHart_sm

Camilla has imbued her love for Frenchies into her artwork, like her recent painting “TriHart” for Rotofugi Gallery’s 10th Anniversary Exhibition opening this Friday August 8th.

Camilla was in her booth for the most of the show signing, sketching and connecting with fans. Her Ian Somerhalder cardboard cutout, promoting The Beekeeper charity print fundraising project for Ian Somerhalder Foundation, was a big hit. Ian signed the cutout in endorsement at Warner Brother’s Vampire Diaries Signing on the SDCC show floor!

Weekend Art Shows – 3X3

This weekend is an art weekend!  Three shows are going down all over the map!

lyric_revised

I’m super enthused to be part of Glenn Barr’s show, Lyric. All the pieces are inspired by music and mine is called Broken, inspired by Gorillaz and their newest album Plastic Beach.

The next show is a last-minute but very important fundraiser put on the Sweet Streets, called #PrayforJapan and it takes place at JapanLA. I’m donating a Canadian Tiger and a Zebramilk Artist Proof from the limited edition series.

And lastly, the guys at Mondo POP in Rome have two of my paintings, Deer God’s Coma and Product of Nowhere in their latest show called Pop Surrealism Big Bang.

Women’s Voices Now – Support

34123_134193329932170_117731331578370_276664_1664830_nI’m supporting Women’s Voices Now and their first ever film festival. I’m lucky to be who I am, have what I have, and live how I live.  There are so many women out there literally fighting for their most basic rights. This is an organization that is helping them make their voices heard. Please check them out and join them on FB.  The short films are remarkable. These women have so much courage; they are an inspiration!

.

Women’s Voices Now is an organization that aims to empower women and give voice to the struggle for civil, economic and political rights. They are new, motivated, dedicated, and their first event is being held from the 17th to the 19th of March:

.

.

Women’s Voices from the Muslim World: A Short-Film Festival giving voice to women of all faiths living in Muslim-majority countries and Muslim women living as minorities around the world.

.

About the Film Festival: The Film Festival, pieces of which have been screened at the New York University, American University, University of Michigan, Dearborn and Simmons College is quickly garnering attention because of the timely relevance of its critical content to world affairs. “By providing on-line access to a collection of relevant stories told by women of all faiths and backgrounds living in Muslim-majority countries, we are filling a void in today’s available information,” says WVN Director of Fundraising Miriam Wakim. “These are the exact voices that are left out of traditional news sources,” continues Wakim, “no complete representation is possible without the participation of the exact people living that life.” In addition to themed film programs, the Festival includes exciting round-table discussions, book signings hosted by prominent authors, performance art pieces speaking to the issues addressed by the Festival and monitors playing the Festival’s experimental films.

Transmetropolitan Fundraiser

Today is the last day to pledge money to the Transmetropolitan Art Book project!  I am one of the contributing artists to the book, and it’s a powerhouse of talent. All proceeds from the fundraiser, after printing costs, will be donated to the comic book legal defense fund.

——————————

ABOUT THIS PROJECT

It has been nearly ten years since the release of the final issue of TRANSMETROPOLITAN, the Eisner-nominated comics series from writer Warren Ellis and artist Darick Robertson. We have approached Mr Ellis and Mr Robertson about putting together a brand new art book of original images, and we’re happy to report both of the co-creators will be participating in this project, donating a brand new cover and a foreword for the book!

TRANSMETROPOLITAN combines black humor, political scandal, and moral ambiguity to look into the gonzo mind of an outlaw journalist and The City he inhabits. Aided by his embattled Editor and his two Assistants, the protagonist blazes a path through a futuristic world of skyscrapers and technological wonders, dark alleys and unspeakable depravity.

——————————

This new art book will be a hardcover volume limited to a few thousand hand-numbered copies.  If you want a copy, you must pledge.
