Returning to ECCC March 1-4

It’s almost time for my first convention of 2018! Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle is where I’ll be kicking off my 2018 convention season. You can find me at booth 108! I’ll have lots of fun goodies like new prints, vintage printed plates, apparel, handbags, original art, books and more!

on Thursday March 1 I’ll also be signing at the Dark Horse Comics booth #1708 from 12noon-12:45. If you come to the signing you’ll get an ECCC exclusive signed print! Dark Horse Comics is only making a limited number of prints though, so come see me there to get one!

I’m bringing vintage printed plates and original artwork to ECCC booth 108! I’ll have a selection of different ones and each is one-of-a-kind, so be sure to visit my booth early in the show for the most selection!

New Prints

I’m bringing some new prints to ECCC Booth 108! I’ll have new ghibli inspired print images like Soots Away and Spirited Away, and my new Last Unicorn, Pink Lemonade, Foxy Lady and more! I’m bringing some large 16″ size prints too, but only one or two of each image, so don’t miss out on your chance to get a nice big print!

I’m bringing the bees! There will be petite bee prints at my booth 108 too, along with other fun bee-themed goodies like scarves and handbags.

I’m bringing some of my awesome Live Heroes collection apparel to ECCC too! There will be new designs and the now-sold-out handbags, so come find them at booth 108! Liveheroes apparel is all hand-made and super soft! I’ll only have 1-2 of each design though so come visit my booth early for the most selection!

You can come pick up books at my ECCC booth 108 too! I’ll have copies of Femina & Fauna at ECCC along with my coloring book and Tanpopo! The first printing of Tanpopo hardcover volumes 1 and 2 is almost sold out from the publisher Boom! Studios, so if you haven’t picked up your copy yet, don’t miss out!

Treat Yo Self Release is Live!

It’s here! Can you bee-lieve it? Ok but seriously, Treat Yo Self! Now on Etsy I’ve released fun new goodies, original artworks, one-of-a-kind totes and scarves, limited edition prints and hard enamel pins and more!

Is your pin game strong? I teamed up with awesome artist and comic creator M. Victoria Robado of Shouri Majo art to adapt my painting Lovemelon into these sweet little hard enamel pins! This special Rose Gold edition of Lovemelon is limited, and so is this new Valentines themed glittery bee colorway! And once these ones sell out, they won’t be remade! So don’t sleep on adding them to your pin family here!

Look at these big beautiful scarves! I’m releasing some one-of and small run scarves on Etsy here! Each one is handmade in Canada, and made of soft semi-sheer poly georgette fabric. They’re so floaty and dreamy! You can even hand-wash them on cold and hang dry them to freshen them up! Scarves usually find homes super quick though so check it out here!

There’s going to be original artwork in my Treat Yo Self release too! I was inspired by the season of love, and drew my favorite OTP Beth & Daryl from The Walking Dead! I can’t help it, I just love them so much. Did you know I write fanfiction about them? Oh yeah. I do! And you can read it if you join my Adventure Club on Patreon here!

Happy New Year! A look back at 2017

Here’s MY personal Best Nine of 2017. 🎉 This year has been a crazy, unexpected whirlwind! Especially for me creatively. So I wanted to look back and choose 9 pics from my feed that I think made a mark on me as an artist. 🖌 It’s important to look back to see how we grow and change and take notes for the future. This year I expressed many sides of my personality, the fun side with my fuzzbutt bees, 🐝 the environmental side with the 3 eyed Ajna, 🌍 the ridiculous side with my zombees. 💀 I opened up in ways I hadn’t before, like sharing my fan fiction art through Patreon (Bethyl forever!), deciding to channel love over hate with my new @coreyhelfordgallery show “Sky”. I pushed myself technically with “La Madre” one of my biggest most intricate paintings to date, I painted a boy, “Dorian Grey” mixing rainbows and literature, 🌈📖 I spent a year completing my rainbow fox, and I brought my love of doll furniture together with my love of custom toys! I published my first ever online comic “Davinchibi” and launched my Etsy with the help of Asami! Tasha, my amazing coordinator knocked it out of the Park this year! She helped me build my Patreon and so much more. 🙌 I did things this year that I hadn’t done before, traveled more than ever and took creative risks. It hasn’t been an easy year, I think many can relate.😌 This year forced me to push myself to work harder and deal with tragedies. 2017 almost felt apocalyptic. Hate surfaced in ways I didn’t expect and it hurt my heart so gravely that I changed my entire direction for my solo show for Corey Helford next year. I decided to take a stand for my beliefs that ALL humans are equal.💖 I want my art to inspire and heal, to bring people together, to spread love. I hope that I’ve brought smiles to your faces and been there through the hard times. My new motto is “Love over Hate”.💞 I have some big plans for next year, I talk about them here on my new Huffington Post interview. You can read it here!  Now that the year is ending it’s time to look forward to what we can accomplish in 2018! 😊 Stay strong and let your freak flag fly my lovelies!! I can’t thank you enough for all your likes and comments and support. You make me so happy! 😁 I want to wish you the Happiest New Years ever! Let’s celebrate with love! Big hugs and all my best!

Wishing You Happy Halloween!

It’s almost Halloween and I’m so excited! Sometimes I have to be away for Halloween when I visit all my awesome LA Area peeps at Los Angeles Comic Con. But this year I get to be home and spend my favorite spooky night of the year with Loki and my hubby! So I want to give a special shout-out and Happy Halloween to everyone who visited me at LA Comic Con and who’s celebrating tomorrow. Take a look at these Halloween themed drawings I made last year!

I’ve also got fun news! I added a new tier to my Patreon page here. Now you can join my Postcard Club! Every month I’ll send you a signed postcard to anywhere in the world, and you’ll also get digital rewards like my monthly fanfiction chapters and PDF sketch collections. If you sign up before Nov 1, you’ll get November’s rewards in a flash! So check it out here and hopefully I could be mailing you a treat very soon!

I’m making new original graphite drawings to share with visitors to my booth523 at SLCC! And if you can’t make it to the convention to check out my new drawings in person, you can find lots of my drawings through my new Patreon page here. I made a tier so that starting from $2 you can get collections every month of to see drawings I make for conventions, but don’t get to post on social media! You can check it out here.

Join My Adventure Club on Patreon

I’m super excited to share a new project I’ve been working on for you lovelies! I’ve launched my band new Patreon page! Patreon is a place where I can connect more with my supporters and share more new art, behind-the-scenes looks at my process, and even what’s most important to me like Loki and my secret hobby (oh yeah, did I mention I secretly write fanfictions about Walking Dead and vampires??). It’ll be like joining my Adventure Club to share in my creative process!

One of the things I’m most looking forward to (and terrified of!) is sharing my fanfiction writing. But after I started mentioning it’s my hobby when I’m at conventions, or have visitors in my studio, everyone’s so excited and supportive to hear about it! So I’m taking the plunge and going to put it out there! Now you can subscribe for chapters of my Walking Dead fanfiction I titled “Loss And Gain”. I’ll add new chapters every month! This story is about WHAT IF Beth had survived being shot. What would happen to her and the group if she met up with them again? What if Beth and Daryl could finish their conversation in the kitchen? And what happens when they face off against Skin Walkers, a serial killer, and a herd of walkers!

I also have a lot of ideas for behind-the-scenes process content to offer only through Patreon. Finally I can do things like offer one-on-one portfolio reviews, share more videos, time-lapses, photos from my studio, and art that I make that doesn’t get posted on social media.

Patreon’s also a great way to get your own commissioned artwork! Every month I’ll be taking a small number of drawing and fuzzy bee painting commissions. You can sign up here!

There are loads of cool goodies and giveaways I have planned too. I’ve got to stop myself from giving everything away though, so you can come see what’s new here! I’m so thankful for your support for my art. Honestly, I can’t do what I do without your support, and by making contributions to me and my artwork you support a lot of small businesses and independent creatives I work and collaborate with too. It’s a big, wide, wonderful and amazing chain of being able to create and share all the rainbows and manga art in my heart with the world. And I thank you so much! So come check me out on Patreon!

So if you’re at the show and you purchase from my booth on Wednesday Preview night, I’ll give you a raffle ticket for the Thursday evening drawing. It’s going to be so much fun! I’ll draw raffle tickets on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, so to be eligible you need to be at my booth 4723 in person at the end of the day (the exhibition hall closes 7pm).
