Coming March 15 New Online Class With Creativebug

I’ve got something exciting coming soon! On March 15th I’m releasing my first online instructional class with Creativebug on How To Draw Manga Faces! I filmed with the Creativebug team in a beautiful, professional set with amazing equipment, and show you step-by-step how to draw in manga style using tools like non-repro blue pencil, and pen & ink. You can sign up to watch the lesson online here for when it goes live March 15!

Camilla’s Whirlwind Week Wrapup

What an amazing week of adventures! Camilla is back from her exciting double-trip to San Francisco CA and Phoenix AZ. The team decorated the set in a delightful collection of Camilla goodies for the occasion.

Camilla’s beautifully shot, high-quality video classes are slated to release in March on Creativebug’s website. You can sign up now with Creativebug here! Camilla and the Creativebug team live-streamed to Creativebug’s Facebook. You can check out the full recording of the stream!

Thank you so much to everyone who came out and visited Camilla’s Kinokuniya Books San Francisco location Meet & Greet! Camilla had a blast chatting with everyone, signing books, doing sketches, and sharing her books with fellow art-lovers.

Lots of travelling means beautiful sights, and airport sketching sessions! One double-rainbow later, Camilla was on her way to Phoenix AZ for Creativation convention.

Visitors to Creativation convention Baker & Taylor booth #1425 got a chance to visit with Camilla and watch her live painting and live drawing demonstrations up-close. Camilla began a brand new painting for her Dorothy Circus Gallery showing in Rome, coming March 31th. Check out Camilla’s weekend progress!

Online fans on Instagram were treated to 3 days of Camilla Live-Streaming while she painted and drew, chatting with fans and taking questions in real-time. Follow @camilladerrico for more upcoming streams in the near future!

Thank you to everyone who tuned in to the streams, visited at Creativation, and to the teams at Baker & Taylor, Random House Books, Creativebug and Kinokuniya Books for their wonderful support!

Camilla loves you, San Francisco and Phoenix, and is excited for more future shenanigans and art-sharing events to come!

Would you like Camilla to appear for an author event, or at a convention near you? Suggest to your local book store or favorite local event you would like to see Camilla featured as a guest artist, and it could happen!

Press Coverage – Colourlovers & MTV

Hey there, here are a few links to recent interviews and articles.  Lots of people email or msg me to ask about my creative process, inspirations, about Tanpopo or Helmetgirls.  Well, look no further!

This is an interview for Colourlovers, an absolutely cool blog all about creation and yummy colours. You can even vote on your favorite color palettes.

Then there is a series of videos from MTV Geek’s coverage of Emerald City Comic Con.

That’s it from me for now, tomorrow is Megacon in Florida, where I’ll have a booth manned by Tasha and some sweet helpers, and then on Saturday in Birmingham, Anime Imports UK will bring my merchandise to the convention – first time in Great Britain!

Enjoy the interviews and let me know what you think or if there are other questions you’d like answered.

New Video Series: Camilla d’Errico Draws

Brand new behind the scenes initiative!  Recently I’ve started posting a weekly (Wednesday) work in progress – sneak peek photo of a project I’m working on and I’m going to expand on that by posting regular (probably bi-weekly) videos!

I’m doing this in two variants:  the videos will be broken up into the longer video, that has some cuts, but is “real time”, and the shorter video that will be set to music, and have more editing, speeding up, etc.

Long Form Videos will be on my Vimeo Channel and Short Form Videos will be on my Youtube Channel.

The first video I posted is the work on the Spider Jerusalem art for the Transmetropolitan Art Book. Enjoy!

Some Post Party Pics

Hi!  Hope you all had a cool weekend!  I’m now officially “over” the weekend after the big release party.  It was such a great party … so I’ve heard!  I was head down, customizing tshirts and signing for 5 hours!! Every time I looked up all I could see were people around me and I could hear pumping music. I’ve heard back from a few of you already and everyone seemed very happy. Some of you even drove up from the US!! I’m so floored and thankful for being supported by so many wonderful people. We estimate over 500 people came to the event 0.0 !!! 😀

.

I’m still waiting on the pics from the photographers, but here are a few from friends and fans, including a video of me customizing a tshirt. Enjoy and I’ll post more pics soon (also to the Flickr account).

The Past Is on Youtube!

Check out this video by Jordan Graham for the Vancouver Film School. It is a retrospective look at three artists in Vancouver who work in the comics industry. And yes one of those is me (obviously not the first image you see here but I’m in there, I swear!).    Funny how the advice that John Buscema gave me so many years ago is still utterly true and I will never regret following my passion. The road is ahead is still long and full of opportunities and I love sharing those with everyone n_n.  The link is also available on Youtube so go give it a thumbs up or a comment to help support these guys! Thanks for watching and sharing!
