— Press Release —
Camilla will be celebrating with the City of Portland, whose mayor has declared the entire month of April as Comics Month, with a Signing Event and Release Party on Thursday April 16th and as an Exhibitor at the Stumptown Comics Fest during the weekend of April 18th and 19th.
Sponsored by Dark Horse Comics and hosted by Compound Gallery, the Signing Event features an art print of Camilla’s recent work, Rainbow Fingers. Each print is 18×24” in size and printed on acid-free, heavy stock watercolor archival paper. The prints are numbered and hand signed in a limited edition of 30, each only $150. Camilla will also be releasing a brand new giant screen t-shirt and Japanese design tote bag especially for the event.
Camilla will be at the event to sign the prints and to offer a sampling of some of the books and merchandise she will present at the Comics Festival. The signing event starts at 6 pm and drinks are courtesy McTarnahan’s.
Hot on the heels of the Signing Event, Camilla will be exhibiting at Table 42 at Stumptown Comics Fest, which takes place at the Lloyd Center Doubletree Hotel Exhibition Hall on Saturday, April 18th and Sunday, April 19th.
The feature item Camilla will have available is her self-published book, Tanpopo: Edge and emotion bring to life the story of a young girl who makes a pact with a devil. She is released from the machine that has been her only existence for the hope of finding happiness. Tanpopo is 40 full color pages, and has a new ending that gives life to what will now be an ongoing series.
All 6 issues of BURN, Camilla’s creator-owned mini-series published by Arcana Studios, will also be on sale at the booth. BURN is the name of the 13-year-old boy whose body is merged with that of a warrior mecha. BURN must now fight for his life and his soul, while protecting both innocents and those he loves – from himself.
Lastly, Camilla is proud to offer the first glimpses of Billy Boom Boom, the videogame and comic book series she has been working on for the past 2 years. Pick up one of the sketchbooks containing pencils, full color pages and descriptions of the characters that will be zooming across your DS screens this autumn.
Camilla will have all of her usual fare available – postcard sets, sketchbooks, and prints. Special edition Tanpopo journals/sketchbooks will also be on hand. These books have been specially designed and made to promote the book, Tanpopo. Stop by the booth also to catch a glimpse of the plush prototype of Kuro — he’s the adorable poodle in the story; the devil himself.
