Hey everyone, I’ve been absent from the blogging but pretty active on Facebook and getting to know Twitter. Yes, my Myspace page is also a bit neglected and I have some design issues to deal with but it will be all shiny and new pretty soon ^__^.
This will be one of many blog posts this month, since there is so much going on. To start out with, I wanted to alert everyone to a show that unfortunately I am not part of, but that I believe deserves a lot of support. It is the 1st annual “Art for Life” charity auction in San Diego, put on by my friend Rod Mojica, for www.lifesharing.org. Lifesharing is a national non-profit organization that brings awareness for organ donation so if you are in San Diego and feel like doing something special on Tuesday night, go out to Bar Basic and support Rod!
After more than a year after receiving my invitation to participate, I can proudly announce the Opening day for KOKESHI: From Folk Art to Art Toy is Saturday July 11! This will be a special “Target Free Day” that includes projects for families, Museum admission will be free all day. The Museum will be open regular hours from 11am to 5pm. There is no public reception for the Kokeshi show and the actual custom pieces can be bought from the museum store. There are some amazing artists in this show and I can’t wait to see everyone’s contribution!
My next blog post will be about the second half of the month, when I’ll be holding my first ever Tanpopo branded clothing release party in Vancouver, and lots of news about San Diego Comic Con; pre-releases, exclusives, signings and toys!
Oh, and before I forget, I’ll have some more product news as well, and work in progress pics of the paintings for the Thinkspace show, Vain Remains!
Happy 4th of July weekend!
