I’ve been furiously painting in my cave, remiss to come out and a little cranky when I have! But I’m starting to get really excited because in less than two weeks I’ll be in New York for the Comic Con. Andrew Ford, the director of Ad Hoc Art Gallery had this cool idea: he wanted to make a limited edition print of one of my paintings from the Language of Angels show last October. And then we had the very cool idea of having a release party for the print, since I’ll be in New York anyways.
The print is Royal Egg Watcher. Its being printed in its original size, 14×18″ on Hahnemule 100% Cotton Rag. Each print is $150 usd and only 30 will be printed. Here’s the image:
So the release party will be on Thursday February 5th, the day before NYCC opens. The Party starts at 6 pm until 10 pm at Ad Hoc in Brooklyn. The exact address is:
49 Bogart Street
Brooklyn, New York 11206
And, just like Santa Claus, I never go anywhere without my bag of goodies! So, I will bring some handbags and charms, some clothing and accessories, and lots of comics, journals, sketchbooks and some little surprise items too.
I hope that lots of you will come out of course, mostly because I love meeting all you amazing people who write to me and support me. I’m a bit of a newcomer to New York, so I can’t wait to meet my East Coast fans. And I especially hope that everyone who is in NY for the convention will make it out as well, as a little kick-off to the con-craziness we all know and love!!
I’ll write more before leaving for New York, but for now, mark your calendars for Thursday, February 5th
