Hello Kitty Artist Party

Hello and happy Friday to everyone!

It’s already November, can you believe it?  I had no trips planned for November since I have to work on Sky Pirates issues 4 and 5 this month but how could I say no when Sanrio and Japanla asked me to go to LA for the Hello Kitty Meet the Artists party?? The whole event is organized by Sanrio & Japanla in collaboration with Juxtapoz Magazine.

For all the info on the party, check out the Japanla Blog.  I’ll be live painting at 6 pm, and before me is Angry Woebots and Peekaboo Monster. All of our pieces will be auctioned off for charity.  Then, at 7 pm, more of the amazing Hello Kitty artists will be joining in and we’ll all be painting a giant canvas together.  You can also make your own tshirt, with live screen printing going on from 4 to 9 pm.

Come out to the party, to meet the artists, and to have a go at the giant collaborative Hello Kitty canvas we’ll all be painting on from 7 pm to 11 pm. This is your chance to join in on the creative fun and doodle, draw and design your Hello Kitty dreams away!

So many people commented and asked about prints of my piece, Hello My Kitty Land, and your wish has been granted! Japanla is releasing 35 giclee prints: 25 on paper and 10 very special ones on wood panels (these are all signed and numbered by me, of course!).

So, twist my rubber arm, and off I go!   See you tomorrow night in LA!

Hello Kitty Art Show

Hello Everyone!

Hello Kitty!!!!!

For the Hello Kitty fans and lovers out there, you know that on November 1st, Hello Kitty will have her 35th birthday. So for such a huge occasion, Sanrio has been going ALL OUT, all over the world, with events, tours, shows, etc.

But the party doesn’t start only on November 1st. In fact, down at Royal/T in Los Angeles, the party starts this Friday, October 23rd when the Three Apples Exhibition opens to the public.

Three Apples Exhibition has more than 100 artists doing their version of Hello Kitty – like my friends Buff Monster and Gary Baseman. Hello Kitty fans?! Who knew?!

If you are in Los Angeles, you should go check out the exhibition. It was curated by the sweetest of sweet girls, and my good friend, Jamie Rivadeneira. Jamie owns Japanla – and if you want cute stuff – she’s got it!

This is my painting, my homage to Hello Kitty:
