Eyes on Walls & New Prints

Hey everyone, hope you had a great (Superbowl) weekend.

Happy Monday is announcement day >_^ and today I’m happy to announce and introduce Eyes on Walls.  EoW is an art publishing company, and I’m releasing a collection of images with them on various media, like art blocks and even giant canvases.

That’s right — I have been listening all this time when you would make  image requests and size requests, etc.!

I’ve had my 12×18 digital prints for years, and have been mentioning for some time that those will be discontinued soon to make room for new prints.  Well, it’s almost time!

Keep your eyes and rss feeds pealed because I’ll soon have 11×14 digital prints – signed – boarded and bagged individually.  I’m going to start off with a collection of 12, and add 2 new prints each month for the rest of the year.

Mind you, the only place you’ll get signed prints and limited editions is on my online store, along with all my available merchandise.

So get ready, because it’s the changing of the guard where prints are concerned. And if you want to get a special size, you can do that through with Eyes on Walls.

Fall News

Hey!  I’m home. Convention season is winding down – only 2 more to go in October, and I can finally settle back into my studio and do some serious, uninterrupted work. Kinda … with so many super cool projects and releases coming up it’s hard to concentrate on the daily art – only because it’s exciting!

.

First of all, for those who missed Fan Expo Toronto and Dragon Con, I’ve posted photos to Flickr!  There are lots of photos of cosplayers dressed as helmetgirls … and a Helmet boy!!! The two conventions were awesome. I swear Toronto felt like San Diego Comic Con!

Then Dragon Con, I was in artist alley along with SO MANY of the most amazing contemporary cool artists like Glenn Barr, The Beast Brothers, Joe Capobianco, Dan May, Greg Simkins, Jason Limon, Brian Despain, Bobby Chui, Travis Louie, Kathie Olivas, and Brandt Peters. The amount of talent in that room was breathtaking and inspiring!

I WILL BE BACK AT BOTH OF THOSE CONVENTIONS IN 2011.  In fact, we’re polling people right now to tell us which conventions you want me to be at in 2011. I can’t go to all of them personally, but I will have a booth at 15 or more cons.  All suggestions are welcome and you can answer here.

.

Also we are in the middle of moving/restructuring the online store.  I’m sorry for the delays in shipping out packages and thanks to those who have placed orders.  We’ll be contacting you individually when your package has been shipped.

With Fall here, we’ll be getting ready for winter and Christmas, which means new merchandise including hand-made JEWELRY … AND a new party in Vancouver.  More news soon, but please SAVE THE DATE for December 10th.  The party will be at The Ayden Gallery!  Special guest host: Buddha Kuro.

.

Lastly, we have tallied votes on the FINE ART PRINTS, and it was really close!  But in the end, the first print to come out will be Canadian Tiger.   This special launch will officially be September 30th (that’s my Bday so I thought it would make it even more special) and will kick off my fine art print releases.

Canadian Tiger

This is how it works:

Print Edition = 100

Size = 18 x 24 (image size 16 x 22)

Price = $100

Each print will be hand-signed and numbered and will come with a certificate of authenticity.

We are also looking at offering the prints pre-framed. If this is an option that interests anyone, please let me know! You can  reply to this blog post or write to me at cderricoinfo@gmail.com.

Thanks!

San Diego Comic Con Here We Come!

.

Hi everyone!!  San Diego Comic Con is right around the corner and we’ve got so much great stuff to share with you, so get ready for a bit of overload :P.  First of all, let’s talk Giant Buddha Kuro.  We are excited to share this guy with you, even though he’s ultra limited edition.   This “plushzilla” is seriously H-U-G-E.  He stands a full 2 feet tall, 60″, he’s about 1 foot wide and 1 foot deep.

San Diego Comic Con Exclusive

Buddha_Words

There are only 100 Buddha plushes available and they are to be picked-up at the convention, from booth #4920.  The price per plush is $125 USD.  We are now taking PRE-ORDERS so please write to cderricostore@gmail.com to reserve yours!  If you get yours on PREVIEW NIGHT, Camilla will even be on hand to make an extra special signature/sketch on his giant hang tag!

.

“What if I’m not going to San Diego Comic Con?!?!”  You’re right, not everyone goes to SDCC, so for those who want Buddha but can’t pick him up you can get on the  pre-order list.  We’ve looked into shipping already, and it won’t cost an extra arm or leg!  Shipping within North America is $40.  Once you email cderricostore@gmail.com, we’ll take care of your order and guide you through the payment process.

.

And that is Tanpopo #3!  We will officially pre-release some books at SDCC and I am soooooooo excited about it.  I wanted to share this extra special book with you all BEFORE San Diego Comic Con, but without giving too much away so …. I am giving away a free download “teaser” here.  What it is, is this new system where you share the download with your friends and networks. It’s pretty cool and called “pay with a tweet”.

.

What other little surprises can I tell you about?!  I’ll be having a giveaway – a chance to win some paint supplies from Holbein.  These are the paints I use every day, the DUO water-soluble oils that I literally swear by! ** image does not represent the prize.

.

So let’s talk PREVIEW NIGHT.  Preview night is all about limited edition prints – silkscreened prints and giclee prints. Some are one of a kind, and I’ll leave the surprise at that!  Also on preview night, and as promised, I’ll have more Stitch vinyls.

mindstyle

Every day of the con I’ll have a t-shirt sale too – 20 for $20.  Each day one tshirt design will go on sale. There will be 20 available, each one for $20. First come, first serve!  And this is a COMIC con, of course so … on top of the Tanpopo trilogy, I’ll have copies of the Fractured Fables books (yup the big anthology), as well as BURN graphic novels, and Sky Pirates of Neo Terra signed sets.

.

There’s actually more to tell you about, but I’ve written a monster so I’ll stop here, and if I can, I’ll write again before the convention (either me or Nancy will give a final update about what else is up our sleeves and in our Santa bags!!).
