Hey Everyone,

We had such an awesome weekend at Anime Expo L.A. where we met so many friends!  It’s really great to meet Camilla’s fans and always so much fun to watch someone discover Camilla’s art for the very first time!

We couldn’t do it without help and we are so happy that Joanie, Diane and Sarah were able to hang out at our booth and help.  Thank you very much ladies!  Pictured here are Sarah, Nancy, Diane and Nancy and Joanie.

Lumby Days

Hi Everyone,

We had a great weekend bringing Camilla’s booth to the small town where she grew up and graduated high school. Nestled in the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, Lumby, just celebrated their annual Lumby Days Festival and this was the first chance for our town to see Camilla’s creations.

The response was amazing as people remembered her from high school and how she was always drawing and sharing her big dreams.  There were even more people who became instant fans when they fell in love with Camilla’s artwork. One girl knew her from el Kartel in Vancouver and was totally shocked to find our booth at Lumby Days – 5 hours away.

This little guy spent a lot of time just soaking it all in.  To view more pictures, please follow this link to flickr:  http://www.flickr.com/photos/40669587@N04/sets/72157624289383344/

Next on the con schedule is ANIME EXPO LA – July 1-4 – our first time ever at Anime Expo will find us at Booth #753. Can’t wait to see you all there!

Sakura-Con 2010

Hi Everyone!

Good news ^_^ We survived Sakura-Con!! The crowds were massive, with some people waiting up to six hours just to get in! Probably a good idea for everyone to pre-register online or something cause that was a lot of time spent sitting there waiting.   Everybody was so happy anyways and the costumes were incredible! Most people were dressed up which was so awesome to see!

We <3 Camilla

Some people came specifically to buy Camilla’s merchandise – thank you Jessica, Seven and Jaseena and others.  We introduced Camilla to a lot more new fans.  And then there were Camilla’s fans who didn’t know we were there who stumbled across our booth and cried out with happiness to be able get some “shtuff”, right Kyle?  😉

No wonder people came back over and over!  There are 53 different arts cards on our table!  Camilla and I are coming out to Calgary April 24-25 so that will be your next chance to see our booth and all this merchandise.  If you can’t make it, you can always buy online!  www.camilla.bigcartel.com

More Press About the Clothing

Hey everyone. So far Hong Kong has been an amazing trip and I still haven’t managed to sift through the visual stimuli and wrap my head around the opportunities!  I think Asia is going to be seeing a lot more of me ^_^.

While out here though I wanted to share with you another awesome press post that was made about the new winter clothing line.  One of the top clothing blogs on the Internet, called iloveyourtshirt, just posted about the clothing!!  If you don’t know the blog, you should have a read through it; they always feature some sweet finds.  Just around New Year’s another clothing blog posted too, this one is called the t-shirtmagazineonline! Check out the post here.

Hope you’re all having a great week so far!

Party Round Up and Some Sweet Reviews

I want to thank everyone who came out to the party on Friday night, and especially to everyone who helped make it a reality! From the clothing (MJ, Tomoha, my models), to the party organization (Pablo, El Kartel crew), to the press (Alan, Maggie et all the bloggers) … it was a fantastic night.

Of course, I didn’t have my camera as I’m terrible with these things, and dear Nancy, who is go-to girl for all my events, couldn’t make it out.  So if anyone has photos, can you send them through to my email?  I do have one picture, which came with a nice article by Vancouver Sun’s Arts & Entertainment Editor, Maggie Langrick on her Been There, Done That blog.  Read her review here.

The guys from Vancouver’s JustalilHYPE Magazine have published their article too!  They were at my place during the model shoot, so some of the photos in the article are behind the scenes shots.  I have to give kudos to photographer Agnon Wong for the pics, because I love how expressive and sweet they came out.  Read the full article here. Alan left no stone unturned in this interview!

We’ve been really busy with the online store as well, and the clothing has been a big hit.  Check out this fab (I love that British term!) review by UK’s inimitable tshirt review site BUY TEES.  Paul Baines makes me jealous with his awesome style, and also ecstatic about the compliments.  Pre-Raphaelite is a term he used … lovin’ it!!  Read the review here, and do make comments and spread the word! My clothing line is making the rounds across the pond!

That’s it for me, for now!  Thanks again to everyone. Much love from this happy girl,

New Look for the Online Store

Hi everyone! November has come and gone already! I know that most of my American friends are getting ready for Turkey dinner tomorrow (lucky you) AND getting days off (lucky you).  Lately it seems like time has gotten the better of me – no days off, no weekends, just work, work, work. But I’m happy to say that I’ve polished off Sky Pirates Issue 4 and am putting the finishing touches on a really special comic project that I hope to be able to share with you soon. No, it isn’t Tanpopo 3 – that has had to take a backseat to my current work, but I’ve finished the script and will start drawing it in a couple of weeks.

Another project that has been keeping me busy this month has been the redesign of the online store. I didn’t do it alone, I admit! But if anyone is interested in redesigning their store, or their site, I would highly recommend Brandxhype. So I hope everyone likes the new look! We were aiming for an easier to navigate, more colorful, and all around better experience for anyone visiting the store. We’ve even updated some of the product images.

But wait, that’s not all. I wouldn’t be on the blog if it were only about my pretty new store! I’ve been dropping hints and pasting some drawings of the NEW winter clothing that will soon be available. I’m like a jumping jellybean right now!! I can’t wait to see the finished products.  But we don’t have to wait THAT much longer. Only one more week and all the hoodies, shirts, dresses, tops, scarves and even embroidered tuques will be online.  Just in the nick of time for Christmas shipping, too!

For my Vancouverites, this year, on December 11th at El Kartel we’re going to have a party to launch the clothing! No snowstorm stopped you last year, so this year will be even bigger and better!!!

Go take a look at the online store, if you haven’t seen it already, and feel free to tell me what you think. And if you’re already thinking beyond the “big” Christmas presents, check out the Featured section of the store for brand spanking new, spot gloss covered, French production 2010 pocket agendas! Oh yeah!!!

I’ll be back with more next week, including the official announcement for the clothing, and for the big party .

But for now, I’d like to share some Thanksgiving cheer (not so much for me because I get no Turkey 😉 …) and say THANK  YOU for all the support, encouragement and feedback you give me constantly.  To show you how much it means to me, I’m going to give away a mini prize package containing one of the diaries and some other goodies to the 5th person who writes to me directly to this blog post on my website!  Tell me what you think of the store design, the products, and what you’d like to see in the future.

Ciao Ciao everyone ^_^
