This closed up world has been very hard. The physical distance. The emotional distance… Not being able to have an opening for my solo show to share with you all was difficult to swallow. But safety is the most important thing. Because I wouldn’t be anywhere without my wonderful fans!
Even though I couldn’t be there and even though the gallery was physically closed – I still wanted to do something special for the closing of my show!
And for those who want a piece from one of my gallery shows – but can’t afford an original painting – STAY TUNED! Because you’ll be able to own a piece of the show by snatching up one of the apples or bunnies!
Keep your eyes on my social media because I hope to announce these guys soon!
This year has been a crazy one so far – I’m sure you can all agree. But we are all making due and working toward a better tomorrow. I personally have been working my butt off and finally finished all my pieces for my Solo Show “The Color Wheel” at The Corey Helford Gallery .
Make sure to tune into my Instagram @camilladerrico for a few show specific events! On Friday, May 29th at 3pm PST: Travis Louise will be interviewing me about my show. Saturday, May 30th (opening night) there will be two Instagram live events: 5:45pm-6:45pm PST we will be doing a walk through of my show at the gallery. The staff will take a camera and walk through the facility so you can see my show “in person”! Then afterwards at 8pm PST I’ll be hosting a Drink & Draw from my home. So watch me draw and have a drink with me to celebrate my show opening!
The show opens May 30th and runs until July 3rd. I know the gallery is physically closed at the moment – and will remain closed during the stay-at-home quarantine – but you’ll be able to view all my pieces online. And if things clear up, hopefully the gallery MAY allow viewings – but don’t quote me on that.
If you are interested in purchasing any of my pieces please email email@example.com for more information.
This is my newest oil painting, Rosa! I’ve contributed a brand new original painting to Corey Helford Gallery’s New Romantics group show, curated by Caro and opening July 28th. I’m so excited! I’m a hopeless romantic at heart. My piece is loosely inspired by Oscar Wilde’s story The Nightengale and the Rose. It’s a tale about unrequited love and ultimate sacrifice… all the good stuff! If you’re in the LA Area you can view the original painting the whole exhibition starting July 28, 7-11pm and on display until Sept 1. To inquire collecting my new original painting please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Who likes mertopsuses? Hmmm or Octomers? Whootwhoot! I missed seeing you all during my opening for my solo show SKY but I’ll make it up by being at the gallery Saturday the 21st at 12noon with bells and whistles on! AND I’ll have hand embellished prints of my girl Ursula and Harmonie! It’s free to attend plus you’ll get a bonus show poster, and I’m happy to sign it for ‘ya! You can email email@example.com to preorder a fine art print from my release and enquire about my original art! And if you are in the LA area definitely stop by the gallery and see all my artwork in person or at coreyhelfordgallery.com See you soon, Los Angeles!
Today is the day! My soloshow “Sky” opens at 7pm tonight Corey Helford Gallery in Los Angeles! It took me over a year to create this collection of paintings and drawings. This is my most diverse showing to date. This exhibition represents who I am as a person and as an artist. I want my art to be my voice of unity and acceptance. I believe we all deserve to be treated equally regardless of our skin tone, our sexuality, where we come from or our shape. Whether you have pale skin, vitiligo, freckles or curves, I hope to empower people and to show the world that we should love each other’s uniqueness!
This show is a culmination of many sleepless nights, and both tears and joy, so I can’t wait for you to see it! I’ve poured my heart and soul into this art! If you can’t make it to the opening don’t fret! You can email firstname.lastname@example.org to inquire available originals from my show.
I wish you all the love in my heart! Sending my love and squishes from here in Chicago! You can check out my solo show video on YouTube Here!
Here’s MY personal Best Nine of 2017. This year has been a crazy, unexpected whirlwind! Especially for me creatively. So I wanted to look back and choose 9 pics from my feed that I think made a mark on me as an artist. It’s important to look back to see how we grow and change and take notes for the future. This year I expressed many sides of my personality, the fun side with my fuzzbutt bees, the environmental side with the 3 eyed Ajna, the ridiculous side with my zombees. I opened up in ways I hadn’t before, like sharing my fan fiction art through Patreon (Bethyl forever!), deciding to channel love over hate with my new @coreyhelfordgallery show “Sky”. I pushed myself technically with “La Madre” one of my biggest most intricate paintings to date, I painted a boy, “Dorian Grey” mixing rainbows and literature, I spent a year completing my rainbow fox, and I brought my love of doll furniture together with my love of custom toys! I published my first ever online comic “Davinchibi” and launched my Etsy with the help of Asami! Tasha, my amazing coordinator knocked it out of the Park this year! She helped me build my Patreon and so much more. I did things this year that I hadn’t done before, traveled more than ever and took creative risks. It hasn’t been an easy year, I think many can relate. This year forced me to push myself to work harder and deal with tragedies. 2017 almost felt apocalyptic. Hate surfaced in ways I didn’t expect and it hurt my heart so gravely that I changed my entire direction for my solo show for Corey Helford next year. I decided to take a stand for my beliefs that ALL humans are equal. I want my art to inspire and heal, to bring people together, to spread love. I hope that I’ve brought smiles to your faces and been there through the hard times. My new motto is “Love over Hate”. I have some big plans for next year, I talk about them here on my new Huffington Post interview. You can read it here! Now that the year is ending it’s time to look forward to what we can accomplish in 2018! Stay strong and let your freak flag fly my lovelies!! I can’t thank you enough for all your likes and comments and support. You make me so happy! I want to wish you the Happiest New Years ever! Let’s celebrate with love! Big hugs and all my best!

Puff is Camilla’s first time painting a dragon in full colour. Camilla uses Holbein’s Aqua Duo water soluble oils on wood panel, and after many layers, her characters come to life as both vibrant and delicately supple figures.
Camilla receives many questions about where she gets her frames- the answers are many of them are imported from the UK, found on Etsy, or at boutiques near to Camilla. Camilla’s frames are always exquisite!
Keep an eye on Camilla’s social media Facebook, Instagram @camilladerrico , twitter @helmetgirl and the Camilla blog for new paintings in development. Looking to acquire an available original? Email firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
Art Collector Starter Kit, an exhibition aiming to make fine art from some of today’s brightest creative stars more accessible to more collectors, returns to Corey Helford Gallery August 30th.
Original works were previously priced in the $2,000 neighborhood, making them some of the most affordable originals from many participating artists. This year’s lineup looks even more stellar. Camilla has been working on a 10×10″ oil painting, with fans on her Instagram @camilladerrico getting the first peek.
Mark your calendars for Art Collector Starter Kit opening August 30that Corey Helford Gallery!
Corey Helford Gallery was hopping the night of its March 23rd opening for Art Collector Starter Kit. Camilla’s newest painting “Bubs”, as well as many of the other works in the show, will be going to happy new collectors. All pieces contributed to the show were completed in a uniform 12×12″ size, which looked very snazzy on installation.
Contributing artists included Camilla, Ashley Wood, Toki Doki, Kukula, Luke Chueh, Brandi Milne and many more!
Thank you to fans and supporters for the warm reception for Bubs and Camilla’s work at Corey Helford Gallery! Event photos contributed by IG Ian Nicastro & @adapiadm
