This is my newest painting “Gaia” I created for Dorothy Circus Gallery’s Mother & Child exhibition opening in London April 13th. Motherhood to me means many things , the love for my mother who carried me into this world and gave me life, the connectivity of women around the world, growing life within and bringing it into the world. But what I wanted to paint was Mother Nature the first and true mothe of the Earth. “Gaia” creates all life on earth, she protects and nurtures us with her body. She gives us a moment on this earth that begins and ends but is filled with beauty and possibilities. So I would like to honor the Mother of our Earth with this portrait of her.
You can inquire adding this original oil painting to your collection by emailing email@example.com or add a print of her to your collection from my custom print shop here.
Take a look at these beauties! I signed the prints from my Women’s Day release before I left for Rome, and the prints are on their way to my team so they can be sent home soon! Keep an eye on your inboxes for shipping updates on your Nips and Kitty Titties prints.
Because of your support, over $400 was donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation! Thank you for making my first Women’s Day fundraising effort a big success!
This International Women’s Day I’m celebrating by baring it all! I’m making my painting “Kitty Titties” available as an 11×17” signed print, and “Nips” is releasing for the very first time as a 12×12″ limited edition timed release print! From 12AM PST (Midnight) March 8th to 12PM March 10th you can collect these beauties in celebration of International Women’s Day from my eStore here!
If you’ve been following my art for any amount of time, whether it’s been a week, or for years, I hope you’ve noticed by now that I never set out to offend or put anyone down with my artwork. Life should be fun! We should be able to share art, laughter, and love. And these are the moments that brought “Kitty Titties” into the world via my paintbrush. She is a painting I made to keep in mind that when the world tries to come down on you- about your gender, or what or how you create, or who you are, you can push back and do it with a smile!
“Nips” is a painting I created in 2013 (for my “Spilled Milk” exhibition collection!), in response to years of pressure and criticism I received for depicting the nude female body in my artwork. “Nips” was my way of saying that being offended by painted breasts is as ridiculous as breasts lactating rainbows. North America often misconstrues nudity for sexuality, a belief I do not share. I grew up surrounded by European art culture through my Italian heritage and learned to appreciate how beautiful life and the human form can be whether that’s male and female, we are equal! So I’m sharing my contribution to Women’s Day as not just a female artist, or as a woman, but as a person who truly believes we must stand together in support of each other to reach equality and harmony. It’s time to free the nipple people, appreciate art for arts sake and see women and men as equals!
I hope you love these vibrant rainbow beauties as much as I loved painting them, and join me in support of Women’s Day! You can pick up one, or both, on my eStore here from March 8-10. I’ll be donating a portion of the proceeds of “Nips” prints sold to support both the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and Breast Cancer Research Foundation. After the order period closes I’ll print and sign them, so keep an eye open for shipping updates a few weeks after the timed release closes!
