ECCC Pics

Loaded up as many pics as I could find – thanks to everyone who sent them to me! – and the whole set is on my Flickr page (caution naked bodies … mature content!), and you can see lots more on this super sweet user’s photobucket. All I will say is that it was an intense, insane, off the hook weekend with crazy boys Dave Mack, Jim Mahfood, Ben Templesmith, and so many more and organized by the lovely Molly McIsaac.  I won’t bore with commentary, the pictures say it all …

NYCC Happenings

Back from New York City Comic Con and have to say it was an intense 3 days of convention, events, meetings and more!

..

I was in artist alley, at table C11 and this year for the first time I sold original sketches, plus I took commission requests:

I got away from my booth a couple of times during the weekend.  Once was for my PANEL about merchandising and art entrepreneurship, held with David Scroggy from Dark Horse, and the other was on Sunday for the Sky Pirates of Neo Terra signing at Image Comics.

Saturday night I was at the MTV Geeks live painting, and you can see all the pics here.   This was tons of fun and I painted with Molly Crabapple, Ben Templesmith, Jim Mahfood and Dave Mack, amongst others.  Special thanks to MTV Geeks and Jah Furry!  A couple pics here on the blog:

Later that night I was at the Grant Morrison film screening and I have to say that it is truly a piece of great film making.  I know it’s been a while that the news about my collab with Grant has been in the news, and that is still happening but for anyone who doesn’t know this amazing man, you MUST watch this movie!

I also had a wonderful time meeting PISMO, the Brooklyn hip hop artist who’s new video just released. Pismo and I are brainstorming some fun ideas for mixing his musical skills and lyrics with some of my art. More on that soon.  In the meantime, check him out:

That was a part of my NYC adventures, and now that I’m back home I’m back at it with painting and a new comic/graphic novel project!  I’m also plotting my Halloween Kuro Pumpkin Carving.  More on that later!
