Camilla has completed a beautiful new hand painted Japanese wooden Kokeshi doll as part of her Spilled Milk Exhibition at Ayden Gallery! This doll, “Whoopi”, stands 12″ tall and is painted in the round with braided rainbow hair.
Whoopi is available through Ayden Gallery here and at email@example.com
Vinyl Kuro Sighting
One of Camilla’s vinyl Kuro toys has been spotted getting a (very extreme) makeover in the capable hands of sculptor and fine artist Matt Anderson of Matt A* Customs for exhibition at his upcoming Solo Show at SubUrban Vinyl Gallery. Kuro’s looking amazing already, with the back lobes of his head turning into plated octopus tentacles. We’ll be keeping an eye out for the full reveal!
A short distance outside of Vancouver, in the neighboring city of Burnaby, is the Nikkei National Museum and Cultural Center. Camilla has supported the Nikkei center’s art exhibitions and charity print auctions in the past, and returns this year for Nikkei Museum’s Kokeshi Project.
Camilla’s oil & acrylic painted 4″ wooden Kokeshi doll, Little Betty Blue Bell, may be previewed here. Little Betty Blue Bell will go up for silent auction through the Nikkei Museum’s Bloom show opening April 25th, with a starting bid of 50$. All proceeds benefit the Nikkei Museum and Cultural Center.
Little Betty Blue Bell may be a special opportunity for you to add an oil painting of Camilla’s to your collection, while benefitting Nikkei Center’s cultural and educational community programs! If you would like to learn more about the Nikkei Center or inquire a bid for Camilla’s piece, contact The Nikkei Center.
