Tanpopo Hardcover Now Available To Order from BOOM! Studios

Last year you helped us raise over $15,000 to help fund a very special edition of Camilla d’Errico’s Tanpopo through one of the most successful Kickstarter campaigns ever in the comics industry. We’re so grateful for those that were able to help fund the hardcover project, and we’re proud to announce that the book is now available for comic shops to order from BOOM! Studios.

News of the book’s release into the comic market was featured on sites like CBR, comics-x-aminerBrokenFrontier, and Comicosity to the Brooklyn blog AlternativeMindz, PopDecay, TheOuthouse, and the awesome Tumblr page Ladies Making Comics. The hardcover edition of Tanpopo could be in stores as soon as March, which means Kickstarter funders should be getting their rewards in just a couple months!

If you missed all of the different tiers and prize, you can still check out the Kickstarter page to see all of the bonus material, like:

Limited-Edition Slipcover

11” x 17” Art Print

Also in Kickstarter news, the books from Womanthology are starting to arrive, so those should be sent out to the funders of the project soon! (You guys are so amazing for helping fund two big projects!)

If you didn’t get a chance to pre-order the book and you would like your local comic shop to carry the hardcover of Tanpopo, contact them and tell them to look for Tanpopo in January’s issue of their Previews catalog, Diamond code: JAN12 0963.

And if there’s not a comic shop in your area, the book should be available to order online through the BOOM! Studios website in the near future. Keep a look out on the Facebook and Twitter page, and we’ll be sure to let you know when it’s up on Amazon too.

A Special Party for Collectors and “Superfans”

Things have been crazy out here in Vancouver – and we’re not just talking about the weather. We’re talking about Christmas, art, games, and a little party to celebrate the holidays with friends.

This year we opted for a more intimate get-together where collectors, superfans and VIPs have been invited to join Camilla in her new studio for an evening of drinks, treats and the chance to pick up some special, limited and one of a kind merchandise.

A new limited edition print of ‘Resurrected Bone Collective’ has been made just for this occasion. It’s a fine art printed, signed, numbered in an edition of 25, and the size is 29″ x 13.25″.

There will also be some one of a kind apparel, printed especially for the party, as well as some new merchandise from France, including magnets and a very limited number of 2012 agendas.

For those who have been asking about them, we will also have some of the Kuro vinyls.

We know so many people who love to come out to the live events, and we can’t fit everyone in, unfortunately – so we want to offer 5 people the chance to come to the VIP party!

The party will take place Friday, December 16th at 8 pm.  Details of location, etc. will be in the RVSP invite/confirmation.  If you’d like to attend, we are going to choose 5 people randomly (raffle style) who email an RSVP to info@camilladerrico.com by the end of tomorrow.

Kuro Vinyl Toys Now Available Online

Great news! After months of only being available at the 2011 San Diego Comic Con, the much anticipated Kuro vinyl toys are available online from Inner Sanctum!

There are three different varieties of Kuro vinyl based on the devilish character from Camilla d’Errico’s Tanpopo series – now on MTV Geek and soon to be published by BOOM! Studios – and each variation is still available to order online through the Inner Sanctum store.

Choose from the SDCC Glow In The Dark version, the standard Black & White version, or the customizable DIY version. But hurry! There’s no telling how long these highly collectable figures will be available during the holiday shopping season.

To show everyone how much fun the DIY version can be, d’Errico Studios’ wonderful and lovely assistant Tasha has created some amazing designs of her own that we’re excited to share!

(This one is called Benjamin.)

(This one is called Loki.)

Fantastic job Tasha! Tasha is hard at work on a student project called A Gorey Demise Storybook, and she could use some support. So, use the link to check out the impressive hand-bound book she’s looking to make in the coming weeks.

Finally, we’ve started a special Facebook and Twitter page for people to get in touch with us about any questions or issues in our E-Store. We hope these channels will make it easier for everyone to contact us about ordering merchandise in the coming weeks as people starting looking for gifts.

Thanks, everyone! Hope you’re having a terrific fall!

Only One Week Left for ‘Tanpopo’ Kickstarter

Thank you all, again, so much for helping us reach the goal of funding the Tanpopo Kickstarter campaign! If you haven’t watched it yet, please check out this video from Camilla where she talks about what will happen with the extra funds.

With only a week left, and after releasing the numbered and signed print image, we wanted to show fans the new cover of Tanpopo that will be available in March of 2012. The hardcover edition of the book will collect Vol. 1 – 3, as well as some terrific bonus material.

And because we’re feeling so happy, we thought we’d show you the special, limited edition slipcase image! The image is currently only in black and white, but we wanted to make sure everyone knows that the limited edition of the book (starting at only $50) will not be available in stores – this very unique copy of Tanpopo is only for Kickstarter funders.

There are still a few open spots open on the Kickstarter page for fans to purchase an original line-art page from Tanpopo, but only a handful. Other tiers have sold-out, however, there are still plenty of limited edition books available, but only for one more week!

And while we have your attention, don’t forget that the Granimator Contest ends at the end of October! Plus, in case you missed the news, we announced the guest artist line-up for Helmetgirls: Origins, and keep an eye on more developments of the Sky Pirates of Neo Terra video game – coming soon!

‘Tanpopo’ Now Free to Read on MTV Geek

Starting today, Tanpopo will be free to read online thanks to MTV Geek! The pop-culture website will run a new section of Tanpopo each week until the series is completed, and to launch the new feature, MTV Geek is hosting a contest where fans have the chance to win a giant, limited edition Buddha Kuro plush and a Blueberry Kuro vinyl that was an SDCC exclusive!

Tanpopo is a graphic tale that reinterprets the literary classic “Faust” through the story of Tanpopo, a strange girl who wishes to know love, and Kuro, a shape-shifting demon who promises to show her true emotion in exchange for her soul. Inspired by manga, epic poems, and cultures from all around the world, Tanpopo breaks the boundaries between comic book and abstract art to create an experience that is as engaging as it is powerful.

If you haven’t gotten lost in the world of Tanpopo, now’s your chance to start at the beginning. We’ve set up a special website just for Tanpopo where fans can download wallpaper images, learn more about the characters, follow the news on Tumblr, and ask the devilish Kuro a question!

It will take several months for the full series to be released for free through MTV Geek, but if you can’t wait to see how the story unfolds, we have Vol. 1, Vol. 2, and Vol. 3 available in the online store. As well, you can buy the Vol. 1-3 bundle for a lower price than purchasing all three separately, or you can order a special set of  Vol. 1 that comes with a Kuro and Specter plush.

Thanks for reading, and please share the news about being able to read Tanpopo for free on MTV Geek, and about the contest to win Tanpopo prizes, they’ll be happy you did!

Camilla d’Errico is Nominated for a 2011 Eisner Award – From Image Comics’ ‘Fractured Fables’ collection that was originally part of the 2010 Free Comic Book Day, “Little Red Riding Hood” by Bryan Talbot and Camilla d’Errico has been nominated for Best Short Story in the 2011 Eisner Awards.

Collectable Kuro Vinyl Figures – There are three versions that will be available, including a standard black, a blueberry glow-in-the-dark SDCC exclusive, and a DIY model than Camilla will customize. Prices range from $25 to $50 for the figures.

Limited Edition Original Sketches – Only fifteen sketches will be available this year, and prices start at $100 for single character drawings, as seen in the photo below. Email cderricostore [at] gmail [dot] com to pre-order your sketch, which can be picked up at Booth #4723.

Original Art for TFAW’s CBLDF Auction – Camilla has created two original sketches, seen below, of Catwoman from DC Comics’ ‘Batman’ series, and Phoenix and Cyclops from Marvel Comics’ ‘X-Men’ series. Those pieces, in addition to any pieces created during Camilla’s Masters Session on Saturday afternoon, will be auctioned off on Saturday night at the Hilton Bayfront. Those unable to attend SDCC can bid on the pieces via email, more details here. In addition, 500 collectable sketch-cards featuring the original art below will be available at Booth #4723.

2011 SDCC Color Ink Book – Carrying in the tradition of artists like Ron English, Alex Pardee, Joe Ledbetter and several other incredibly talented people, Camilla has created the cover image to Color Ink Book’s latest DIY art volume. Included in the collection will be at least twelve, classic pieces by Camilla d’Errico that can be colored. The book will not be on-sale until August, so those who get copies at SDCC will have special, advance versions.

Alternative Cover to Grant Morrison Documentary ‘Talking with Gods’ – At the request of director Patrick Meaney, Camilla has created a special, alternative cover to the Grant Morrison documentary ‘Talking with Gods’ that will be available at the Halo-8 booth (M-03 in the small press area). Fans made remember that Grant Morrison has plans to work with Camilla on a title called ‘The New Bible’ that has yet to be given a release date.

The ‘Womanthology’ Collection – Although the book from IDW will not be published for a few more months, several contributors will be attending SDCC, and no doubt people will be talking about the successful funding of the all-female anthology, profits of which will be donated to charity.

New T-Shirts, Handbags, & Products – Following the conclusion of SDCC, Camilla d’Errico will have a brand-new online store that will feature new shirts, bags, prints, and other products. Some of these items will be available at Booth #4723, and can be purchased before the general public.

Sold-Out First Editions of the ‘Femina & Fauna’ Art Book – Dark Horse Comics has sold-out of the first printing of ‘Femina & Fauna’ and second printing editions will not be available for a while, however, we will have a very select number of the books for sale that Camilla can sign.

As you can see there’s a lot going on, but all of the projects are very exciting! We hope to see you at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, and be sure to follow all of the events on Facebook and Twitter as we’ll be updating fans with photos and news from the convention!

San Diego Comic-Con Announcements

Like Christmas for nerds, geeks, and fans, San Diego Comic-Con is back again! Okay, there’s a lot of different things going on this year, so get ready for an information overload. First things first, come say hello if you’re attending! We’ll be set up at booth 4723, on the corner right across from the toy section.

Next, as promised, there are three, brand-new Kuro vinyls. Aren’t they cute?!

The glowing blueberry version (yes, it really glows-in-the-dark!), will be a 2011 SDCC exclusive ($59.99), however the regular Kuro ($29.99) and DIY version ($25.99) will be available through our mailing list, provided supplies still last. Each Kuro purchased at SDCC will also come with an exclusive collectible card from Camilla! If you would like a customized DIY Kuro ($25.99 + $25), please email cderricostore [at] gmail [dot] com; only a few will be available, and must be picked up at booth 4723, where Camilla will be working on the collector items, autographing books, and meeting fans.

If you’ve ever attended a show with Camilla, you probably seen her working on sketches like the ones below:

Emerald City Comic Con

Calgary Comic Expo

Because the demand for sketches has been so high, we are opening up pre-orders for only 15 sketches this year at San Diego Comic-Con. Sketches must be pre-paid and picked up at booth 4723 during the convention. All sketches come on 9 x 12 art paper. Single character sketches start at $100, and multi-character sketches start at $150. Please email cderricostore [at] gmail [dot] com to arrange a one-of-a-kind piece of original art. Similarly, if you would like to arrange to pick up one of only a few of 100-limited-edition Black Rabbit Kaleidoscope fine art prints, please email to schedule receiving the certificate of authenticity as well.

Those are the big announcements for those looking to pick up something special at San Diego Comic-Con, but there is much more going on as well. Camilla’s “Wireseat” is the cover to the 2011 SDCC Color Ink Book, and an alternative cover to the Grant Morrison documentary ‘Talking with Gods’ by Camilla will also be available! Just click the links for more information.

In addition to being nominated for an Eisner Award, it’s a privilege for Camilla to be a part of TFAW’s CBLDF Auction and has created two pieces – Catwoman & Phoenix, look for more details about how you can bid on the unreleased original art in the coming days. For participating in the auction, TFAW has been kind enough to pledge 500 limited-edition cards that feature Camilla’s piece that can be picked up at booth 4723! Want to know what the original looks like? Here’s a hint – the image is very well known in the comic community. >_^

Since we’re letting some secrets slips, here’s a couple more – fans of Tanpopo are going to get a huge gift in about one month from now, and fans of Sky Pirates of Neo Terra will have a new, online game to play soon. Okay! That’s all the secrets for now!
