‘Tanpopo’ Design Contest with Munky King

The recent release of Tanpopo from BOOM! Studios has been extraordinary, and to continue the celebration of the hardcover book, Camilla d’Errico is partnering with Los Angeles art gallery Munky King for a special, first-of-its-kind design contest for fans and readers.

Starting today until the deadline on July 1st, fans can submit original art in one of three different categories for a variety of chances to win a grand prize package judged by Camilla d’Errico and special guests, while also getting the chance for their work to be displayed in a Los Angeles art gallery!

How To Enter:

1) Design a poster of Tanpopo and Kuro using your favorite piece of literature, like Romeo & Juliet for example.

2) Draw Tanpopo in your favorite emotion, like “happy” or “mad,” for example.

3) Draw Kuro in a new form, he change into anything!

Prizes:

One grand prize winner will have their original artwork featured on a brand-new Tanpopo t-shirt and poster print! Plus, the grand prize winner will also receive a $50 gift certificate to Munky King, a hardcover edition of Tanpopo, a Kuro plush, and new 11″ x 17″ Tanpopo print by Camilla d’Errico!

Two runners-up will receive a $50 gift certificate to Munky King and a new 11″ x 17″ Tanpopo print by Camilla d’Errico!

A big thanks to all the fans who have supporter Tanpopo for years. After seeing some of the incredibly talented entries to last year’s Coloring Contest, all of us at d’Errico Studios hope this will give some new artists the chance to have their fantastic work displayed to a greater audience. RSVP on Facebook today to follow all the fun!

If you’re not artistically inclined, don’t worry! We’re going to announce another contest soon that anyone can enter. If you happened to be in on Camilla’s live video chat, then you’ve already got a head start!

Get ready for the Munky King, Noferin Jibibut Custom Show! The show opens Thursday, April 8th (yikes that’s tomorrow!!). The line up of artists who participated is wicked! (yes I’m reviving this term now) 😉 and what they’ve come up with is mind boggling and brings big smiles to your face.

The preview for the show is now up, but apparently it isn’t complete, so those lucky people who live in LA or who can get there easily will have to see them all in person at the Munky King Melrose location.

And even though I’ve sent these out before, here are some sneaks of my piece. It is called ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Helmet’.  Or … Cuckoo’s Helmet for short.  The preview page for my piece with all the info about buying, etc. is HERE.
