Camilla has been a creative powderkeg for her upcoming “Submerged” exhibition! The show opens March 31th at Dorothy Circus Gallery in Rome, Italy. Here’s a look at what Camilla has been working on.
Some completed artworks have already been revealed! Camilla’s piece “Ajna” is an oil on wood panel painting measuring 12×12″.
Ajna and sister pieces from “Submerged” are Camilla’s first forays into full monochrome painting elements. Camilla shares some thoughts and feelings behind Ajna’s creation:
This painting is all about human perception and our role in nature. I believe we are as much as part of the earth as all the other fauna and animals, yet we don’t always see it. We need to open our third eye and truly appreciate what we are a part of and how we affect the planet. The colors of her eyes are secondary colors because we tend to put the earth’s life second to our needs. I believe human beings are amazing and capable of so much. Our greatest assets are compassion and intelligence which is why I wanted to show so much emotion in her. Earth is a beautiful world that is rich in color and life that should be treasured!
