The Big Summer Release – Coming Soon!

Hello all my wonderful fans! SDCC is over and its bittersweet. I always have a blast, but I love my time to come home and unwind afterwards.

But just because the madness of SDCC is over doesn’t mean I don’t have something great in store! My Big Summer Release is coming to The Camilla Store on Etsy – Friday, August 9th at 9AM PST/12PM EST.

I’ve brought back all the goodies that were left from SDCC and they will go up for the Big Summer Release. But everything is limited or one-of-a-kind so make sure you get to my Etsy early so you don’t miss out!

First up – KIMONOS! I have VERY limited quantities of my Moonflower and Leo SDCC Official Convention Exclusive Kimonos. They each come with an SDCC Official Exclusive tag and a certificate of authenticity. This is it people! When these are gone – they are gone forever! So make sure to get yours while supplies last.

I have only a handful of my original paintings left from SDCC – but they will all be live and available for purchase on my Etsy Friday, August 9th at 9AM.

Some paint-embellished sketches will also go live on the 9th. These are from SDCC and all that I have left! My next sketches won’t come until my Halloween release – so if you want your very own drawing, this is a great opportunity as they are extra special with the paint embellishments!

My large and small Mystery Bundles from SDCC have made their way over to my Etsy. These are a great opportunity to snatch up some signed, fine art, limited edition, or discontinued art or items! Every single package is different.

The Large bundles include: two 11×14 prints (there are signed, fine art, out of print and limited edition prints at random – you could get something extra special), one postcard and one sticker.

And the Small bundles include: two postcards (one of my original concept art, the other: a pop culture image in my art style), two stickers (some designs have been discontinued or were limited edition) and one enamel pin (many of these pins have been discontinued are limited edition or special edition). Lots or opportunities to get something rare and special!

My Camilla girls and Fuzzbutts lanyards will be available in limited quantities as well.

My SailorBuzz pins will also be available! Isn’t sure friggen AROABLE?!

And just in time for school: my Star Bees and Rainbow Bees backpacks will be available!

Last but not least I have some cool giveaways! For all orders between the 9th and 12th, I’ll be giving away one of these sweet pencils. But only while supplies last. And then one lucky order will be getting this sketch and a super awesome bonus!

So set your clocks! Friday, August 9th at 9AM PST/12PM EST! Head to my Etsy store early or you’ll miss out!

Camilla d’Errico Art on USA Network’s Psych TV Show

Several fans on Facebook spotted some original Camilla d’Errico art in the latest episode of USA Network’s Psych television show the other night! It’s so amazing that people noticed the pieces right away. Thank you so much, wonderful fans! You are the best.

The episode of Psych (staring hunks James Roday and Dulé Hill) featuring the art work is called “Let’s Doo-Whop It Again” from Season 6, Episode 13 and even features special guest stars Cheech Martin and Mekhi Phifer. In a scene in a tattoo palor, you can see three different Camilla d’Errico paintings!

In this shot, you can see “Feeding Time” and “Shark Bite” behind the actor:

And here you can see “Octogirl” on the wall:

Pretty cool, huh?!

Speaking of tattoos, awesome fan Nikki recently had “Canadian Tiger” converted into a beautiful shoulder piece:

Thanks, Nikki! It looks great!

Don’t forget, next week is Emerald City Comicon! This is your last chance to request an original sketch, so email store@camilladerrico.com if you would like your very own, one-of-a-kind piece of original art. The show will also be the debut of the Kuro Glass Charm. Hope to see you in Seattle!

Stranger Factory’s Grand Opening + JapanLA’s Kittens & Ice Cream

There are two excellent art shows happening this weekend in the American West! First, fellow artist, and all-around amazing woman, Kathie Olivas is opening her store Stranger Factory in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Friday, June 3rd at 6:00pm. (Just a few weeks ago, Tara McPherson opened her own shop in Brooklyn too, click here to see those pictures!)

You can RSVP to Stranger Factory’s Grand Opening on Facebook if you’re in the area and want to attend. And why wouldn’t you? It’s awesome. Plus, Camilla’s piece “The Fated Binding” will be on display as part of the Vintage Modern Narrative exhibit! Vinyl Goddess, Spanky Stokes, and Vinyl Pulse all have more information on the store, and here are some pictures, in case you can’t attend:

Next up, JapanLA is celebrating their 5th Year Anniversary Party with a Kittens & Cream exhibit in Los Angeles, California on Saturday, June 4th at 7:00pm. You can RSVP on Facebook for the event as well. Remember when we teased Camilla’s piece in the show last week? Click here, if you didn’t get a chance to see the work-in-progress.

There are so many adorable pieces of art at the JapanLA show, here are some pictures, in case you can’t attend:

Hope you like seeing other artists on the blog, it’s so great to be a part of such a fun and talented community! Don’t forget, there’s a contest running until Friday, June 3rd on the blog – click here to see how to enter. It’s easy, and you can win a free art print, plus there’s a sneak-peek of a new Helmetgirls image!

Helmetgirls and London Show

Thanks so much to everyone who participated in the Tomopop contest in celebration of the new Tanpopo website! We’ll announce the winners soon. Even though the contest is over, you can always ask Kuro a question, but don’t be surprised if his answers are vague, confusing, or even down right naughty!

Did you see the interview with Camilla on MTV Geek? No?! Okay, well, first sit down. Ready? Ok.

Josh Dysart (B.P.R.D., Unknown Soldier) and Camilla d’Errico are teaming up to create “Helmetgirls: Origins” – a brand new graphic novel that follows Pia, a girl who finds a mysterious helmet in a steam-punk wasteland!

pia

So far, no other details have been released, and a publisher hasn’t been chosen. But, keep checking here and on the Facebook page to get the latest news. It’s so exciting! Click here to see the full interview.

Finally, if you’re in England, you should stop by the London Miles Gallery to see Literal.eyes, a new exhibit opening Thursday, May 12th. The show features only thirty different artists who have translated some of their favorite literature into visual work, much like the Tanpopo series, but limited to a single piece.

Camilla’s addition to the gallery is based on the famous opera “Aida” by Guiseppe Verdi, fist performed in 1871. Aida is an Arabic female name that means visitor, and the opera follows the story of the Ethiopian princess, brought to Egypt as a slave, and a military commander named Radames who must disobey the Pharaoh in order to love her. Camilla’s piece is also titled “Aida” and can be seen below.

As always, click on any of the images to see bigger sizes, and thanks for continuing to support the work of Camilla d’Errico!
