Dr. Sketchy’s Double Whammy

It must be that I’m itching for convention season to start – or that I’m a little nutty – because I’ll be doing a Double Dr. Sketchy’s event on Sunday!!

.

Actually, what happened is the 7 pm show completely sold out and I couldn’t leave people out of it, so we (as in me and the lovely and awesome Shary Contrary of Dr. Sketchy’s Vancouver) talked to the venue, The Beaumont Studios, and asked them if we could take over the location for a matinee show too.  And they said YES!

.

So here are extra details about Sunday (including the names of the models):

.

Matinée added!

.

Here are photos of the models. I simply cannot wait to see them dressed up as my girls!!!

Live Art Event with Dr. Sketchy’s

A quick hello to get you ready for January. January? Who cares right, it’s Christmas!! >_^

.

Well, I know, but I’m really excited about this event and I know you will be too.  The good gals at Dr. Sketchy’s Vancouver branch have prepared a killer show for you – and me!

.

For those who don’t know what Dr. Sketchy’s is, it’s an “anti-art” movement, a worldwide phenomenon of alternative live art.  So this is how it rolls:  there will be live models on a 360 degree stage at Beaumont Stage dressed as some of my characters and I will be live drawing them! So it’s a bit like the Amanda Palmer live drawing at San Diego Comic Con, except I’ll be live drawing my own girls!!! How cool is that?

Tickets and seating are limited so if you’re interested it’s a good idea to sign up now.  You can get more information from their website or from the Facebook event page.   And get more information about Dr. Sketchy’s on their site.  It’s founded by none other than Molly Crabapple.  A lovely lady artist and friend and inspiration to so many artists.

.

Bye for now, sign up if you want to be part of this awesome event, and I’ll send more reminders in the New Year!
