Tan2Cover

Tanpopo Graphic Novel Volume 2 is coming to The Camilla Store, Amazon, and book and comic shops near you! Official release date is slated for May 28, copies will be available on The Camilla Store here.

Tanpopo is Camilla’s passion project, combining her love for classic literature, manga & storytelling, with her own characters and narratives.  Graphic Novel 2, containing installments 4 & 5, continue Tanpopo’s journey to discover what it means to be human, guided by Kuro, the devil in disguise.

A fresh wound of the heart is torn open by the unmasking of Kuro’s deadly deception with Ni. His lessons in human emotion push Tanpopo to the limits of her resolve. Is this part of his plan as her otherworldly guide or has he underestimated Tanpopo’s dogged independence?

Following Tanpopo Volume 1, Volume 2 continues Tanpopo’s journey into human emotion through classic literary works of Shakespeare, Edgar Allan Poe, and 1001 Arabian Nights.

Camilla received a very few advanced copies of Tanpopo GN2 for her Spectrum Fantastic Art Live showing this month. She held back a small handful of copies, signed and did original Tanpopo sketches inside to send to The Camilla Store team.

Kuro wants to know, what Devilish thing would you do to get your hands on a signed advanced copy of Tanpopo GN2 with an original sketch inside? Replace every Yahoo Answer with cryptic hieroglyphs? Fill Old Faithful with cream soda? Fake spiders in the cookie jar that come to life if anyone but you tries to sneak one?

Tell Kuro! He’s listening through Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr & Instagram. Tell him what your Devilish Deed is and tag it #TanpopoAndKuro #DevilishThingsContest

On Friday May 23rd by the time the clock strikes Midnight, he will chose his favourite Devilish thing of them all, and see an advanced copy of Tanpopo GN2 with an original sketch inside spirited your way.

Tanpopo GN 2… Cancelled?

Page05-06_CropSM1

A reliable source close to Tanpopo and Kuro has revealed the star-crossed couple had eloped this past weekend while Camilla attended Emerald City Comic Con. The newlyweds have disappeared, and cannot be reached for comment.

It would seem plans for Camilla and Boom! Studios Tanpopo Graphic Novel #2 are halted in their tracks, just weeks before international release.

‘Tanpopo’ Hardcover Now In Stores + Live Chat with Camilla d’Errico!

After years of publishing the unique original series independently, d’Errico Studios is proud to announce that acclaimed comic book publisher BOOM! Studios (Adventure Time, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, Peanuts) has released Camilla d’Errico’s fan-favorite series Tanpopo in a beautiful hardcover edition book to book stores and comics shops everywhere.

First self-published and sold to eager fans at conventions, Tanpopo was serialized through MTV Geek last year before being acquired by BOOM! Studios for a deluxe release this spring. To help fund the high-quality publishing of Tanpopo, Camilla d’Errico and BOOM! Studios partnered on one of the most successful Kickstarter campaigns in all of comics in order to provide long time readers with special incentives and gifts that continue to be sent to backers as the regular hardcover edition of the book hits store shelves.

Tanpopo is inspired and narrated by passages from classic literature and poetry. But, Tanpopo is not an illustrated poem nor is it a reinterpretation of literature. It is a unique visual and literary experience that combines a rare, open storytelling format with oriental aesthetics and character development, while bringing long lost or little known classic literature to today’s audience – both young and mature.

In the first three volumes, Tanpopo draws from Faust, Rime of the Ancient Mariner, and Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio to create an experience that is as curious as it is moving. The story follows main character Tanpopo as she attempts to learn how to feel emotions after being freed from her machine-driven, intellectual prison by the devilish character Kuro, who promises the young protagonist true love in exchange for her immortal soul.

Given the amount of consumer and critical support for Tanpopo so far, the first three stories in the newly released hardcover book mark only the beginning of a long and successful line of adventures that fans will be able to enjoy for years to come.

As a special thank you to all the fans who have supported Tanpopo over the years, Camilla d’Errico will host an hour-long live video chat with Shindig.com on Monday, May 7th at 3:00pm EST! RSVP to the live chat on Eventbrite today!

Update About ‘Tanpopo’ Kickstarter & Calgary Expo

Hi everyone,

Firstly I want to thank every backer for my Tanpopo Hardcover project for waiting so patiently, and supporting me so faithfully. From the bottom of my heart, Thank You!

Our first printing of Tanpopo Hardcovers our team has met some misfortune; the whole shipment of Tanpopo Hardcover Slipcover editions was damaged in 3rd party handling. However, our whole team is working double-overtime to replace them, and get them ready for fulfillment. For backers and supporters who have been there for me every step of the way, you deserve nothing less than a beautiful high quality collectible book!

We’re so fortunate that we have your patience and support while we address the damaged shipment; overfunding on the campaign has been a godsend in putting out this little fire, and making sure you receive the best quality rewards for your support.

Our d’Errico Studios Ltd. e-Store and Shipping helper, Tasha, will be personally e-mailing shipment tracking ID#s for your Signed Books, Shikishi, Toys and Prints when they ship. Signed books and prints will be ready and in the mail in the coming weeks.

Backers receiving a SDCC Buddha Kuro can expect them shipping separately from DKE Toys in California.

Local Vancouver, Canada Backers are more than welcome to contact us at info@camilladerrico.com to arrange a pickup at my art studio.

Your questions or concerns about Tanpopo Hardcover and shipping are welcome at info@camilladerrico.com

Putting together this amazing book, and sharing it with you, couldn’t have been possible without your support and patience. I’m so thankful to have fans like you!

Sincerely,

Camilla

P.S. – To all my Calgary fans, I hope to see you this weekend at Calgary Expo! We’ll have lots of art, books, and clothes and some prototypes of items coming out later this year. ^_^
