Hand Painted No Ordinary Love Statue

AttemptedMurder_logos1sm

Hi guys! I’m Tasha, Camilla’s operations coordinator- her helper and executive llama extraordinaire. I get to share the cool news and projects Camilla works on here on the blog, and we’d like to share a Camilla project I’ve put together. I’ve hand-painted one of Camilla’s No Ordinary Love statues in a different colorway I’m calling “Attempted Murder”, patterned after Camilla’s painting “Aida”.

I’ve repainted the statue from top to bottom in the new palette, with little sculpted mice and eggs in her hair. The original No Ordinary Love statues are Blue & White – even the white crows have blue tinting in them.

Camilla is an amazing artist and mentor, and it’s a pleasure to get to share how her work inspires the painting I do. This one-of-a-kind colourway will be with me at my Designer Con booth #911 in Pasadena this weekend, November 8-9 at the Pasadena Convention Center. ┬áIf you’re in the area, swing by and say Hi!

If you haven’t collected your own No Ordinary Love statue yet, we have a few here on The Camilla Store. Does Camilla inspire you to make new artwork too? Show us at info@camilladerrico.com !

We remember Tasha cut her teeth on painting designer vinyl with painting some of Camilla’s DIY Vinyl Kuro Toys. Tasha has kept painting toys, and has since participated in exhibitions and artist series regularly. Here’s a quick look at how far Tasha has come along from 2011 to now. Keep it up Tasha!
