Deer Statues

Where I live on Vancouver Island these four-legged neighbors visit me daily. These gentle creatures have a special place in my heart ever since I was a child. And now you can adopt them into your home as beautiful guests. Deer serve vital roles in nature as herbivores, contributing to ecosystem balance through vegetation control, seed dispersal, and their role as prey. Their presence and behavior also act as indicators of ecosystem health, while cultural significance and economic activities such as hunting underscore their broader importance to both environments and human societies.

These beautiful beasties are statues from my “Nurtured by Nature” 2023 solo show installation. Each is made of resin, hand-painted white white enamel paint. They are one of a kind and a part of my show history!

My "Nurtured by Nature" solo show's installation vividly depicts the dire consequences of neglecting the planet's well-being, warning of a future where vibrant landscapes are replaced by motionless statues symbolizing the once-beautiful beings that graced our world. The pristine white hue of these statues, reminiscent of ancient Greek sculptures, emphasizes a distant era and the civilizations lost, surrounded by a monochromatic forest representing the starkness following environmental indifference.
